The next morning, Lily opened her eyes as the sun shined in her room. She reached over and sat up when she realized Ichabod was not next to her, sudden panic setting in. She wrapped the sheet around herself and quickly walked from room to room calling his name. When she couldn't find him, she sat at the kitchen table covering her face, worried he disappeared. It wasn't until 5 minutes later the door opened and he came in carrying a bag from the grocery store. Lily jumped up from the table and ran over to him as she threw her arms around him and he lifted her into his arms.

Ichabod (laughing as Lily kisses him): Are you alright?

Lily (presses her forehead to his as she holds his face): I thought you had disappeared... after last night.

Ichabod (puts her down and kisses her forehead): Lillian, it will not be that easy to rid yourself of me. But you are not regretting what happened?

Lily (shakes her head, blushing): Of course not. Why would I be?

Ichabod (takes her hands and kisses each one before looking into her eyes): The gift of a lady's virtue is not something to be taken lightly. Had I known...

Lily (smiles as she looks at him): I knew what I wanted. And it was perfect.

Now that Lily had fully come into her powers, she started to notice things happening around her more frequently. Her ability to levitate began to improve, letting her control larger items, such as dogs and cats. She ever was able to make Ichabod float for about 10 seconds about 3 feet off the ground. As she read the book, she started practicing the spells Katrina had written down, carefully avoiding the spell to resurrect Ichabod for fear it would potentially send him back in time. Neither of them spoke about that spell, just all the others she had found. It was almost like an unspoken ending they didn't want to face.

They tried their hardest to stay close to each other as much as possible, for fear that separating spoils potentially send Ichabod back in time. Lily took Ichabod to the local library and he began reading any book he could find to begin to acclimate to the present time better. Lily took him to D. C. to see the national capital so he could see what the people of his time fought for. Ichabod walked through the museums whispering to Lily about the "real" stories that were forgotten over time. Lily found herself watching Ichabod as he absorbed all the information. It amazes her how much he was willing to learn about everything. But she began to notice there was a sadness in his eyes, like there was something missing. As the evenings grew cooler, Ichabod would light a fire and sit reading or just watching the fire. Lily would curl up on the couch next to him, reading Katrina's journal or a book about the occult, sometimes Ichabod would read out loud to her from a book.

Lily (closing her book and looking at Ichabod): Ichabod...

Ichabod: Mhhmm?

Lily: Are you happy?

Ichabod: Of course. Why do you ask?

Lily: I just have a feeling. It seems like you're missing something. Like you're incomplete.

Ichabod (cocks an eyebrow at her): I thought you were not going to use your powers on me.

Lily (she moves into his lap and puts her arms around his neck): I don't need powers to see that.

Ichabod (looks up and kisses her): There is so much that has happened since my time. It's rather overwhelming.

Lily (sighs, knowing what needed to be done): Ichabod, this is not your time. You don't belong here.

Ichabod: I "belong" wherever you are, my darling girl. (He kisses her gently as he smiles before looking at the fireplace, his mind traveling far away.)

Lily sighs as she lays her head on his shoulder before she stands from his lap and goes to her room. She goes into her bathroom and opens the journal to the pages with the entry about the Resurrection spell. Lily closed her eyes clearing her mind and focusing on reciting the spell:

Id quod mortuum, nunc oriatur.
Hoc quod cecidit, nunc revertatur.
Id quod mortuum, nunc oriatur.
Hoc quod cecidit, nunc revertatur.
Hoc quod cecidit, nunc revertatur.
Orimini. Orimini. Orimini. Orimini! Orimini!

She repeated it twice as she stared at her reflection. Her eyes turned white as she repeated it a third time, her body levitating as she spoke. She slowly lowered her body down as she finished and opened her eyes. She closed her eyes and walked out of the bedroom and back to the living room, relieved when she saw Ichabod still seated on the sofa. She sighs and smiles as he stands up.

Ichabod: Is everything alright?

Lily: I guess so. (She sits on the sofa next to him as he pulls her into his arms, continuing his reading as she dozed off)

A few hours later, Ichabod closed the book ad picked Lily up, carrying her to the bedroom as she slept. He laid her in the bed and sat next to her, smiling as he brushed the stay hair from her face while she slept. He didn't want to wake her, but as he watched her, a strange rush came over him. He leaned down and kissed her forehead, then her cheek. Then, he gently kissed her mouth as she opened her eyes and smiled. She reached up and touched his face before pulling him closer, kissing him deeply. Her hands reached down to pull his shirt off and she pulled her own off tossing then both aside before he crawled into the bed next to her, their bodies pressed against each other. She closed her eyes as they kisses, letting her other senses take over, feeling the touch of his skin under her fingertips. He let out a soft job against her mouth as she ran her fingers across his chest and down to his waistband, slowly easing his pants down as he pulled her closer to him, hitching her leg around his waist. She could feel his hardness pressed against her as they kissed, she groaned as he takes off her panties and she arches her back towards him, begging for more. She starts to roll their bodies and soon she's straddling his waist as they kiss. She pulls back a little as he sits up a little closer, she slowly reaches out touching his face before kissing him as she slowly lowers herself on him, her walls tightening as she takes him in fully. She gasps and noises her lower lip as she slowly starts moving her hips. Ichabod puts his hands on her hips watching her with dark, hungry eyes as she moves, his mind racing with the sensations of her moving against him. She keeps her hips moving steadily as she leans down and he takes her mouth in his, middling on her lower lip as she starts groaning. Lily begins to feel her walls start to tighten as he starts peaking, his breathless moans of her name causing her to start peaking with him. She closes her eyes as she buries her face in his chest, the both of them spent as they work to catch their breaths. After what felt like forever, Lily moves from on top of Ichabod and lays next to him before he rolls toward her and pulls her body flush against his, holding on to her as tightly as he can. He kisses her ear as he nuzzled her neck and she hears him begin to speak.

Ichabod (his voice breaking a little as he spoke): I swear this to you Lillian Katrina Williams; I will never pledge my love to another person for as long as I live.

Lily couldn't speak. She nodded as she took his hand and kissed it. She felt tears welling up.

Lilly: I'm sorry, Ichabod. I had to do it.

Ichabod: I know, my love. It's alright. I'll be alright.

Lily: I love you Ichabod. Beyond time.

Ichabod: I love you, Lillian.

Lily's eyes grew heavy as she fell into a deep sleep, her hand holding onto Ichabod's tightly.

The next morning, Lily woke up to an empty bed. Ichabod was gone.
