It was the morning of the 15th, and Clay had immediately taken down all of the Valentine's Day decorations. He didn't care if his mom was mad at him for it. Valentine's Day was over.

"Make sure you eat something sweetie. Oh and tell George I said hi."

"Sure thing, mom. Bye."

He slung his backpack over his shoulder and opened the door, closing it behind him and breathing in the cold February air. The leaves were starting to grow back onto the trees, and it was nice how everything seemed to be coming back to life. Even the grass beneath his shoes was slowly coming back up from the ground. Right as he was about to cross the street, his phone buzzed.

George: Good morning!

You: Morning bb 😘

George: 🥰😘😘

Clay laughed and put his phone back into his pocket. They always joked around like this, and he couldn't help but wish it wasn't a joke.

This got him thinking about George, and, oh god, Clay was already feeling lightheaded. Maybe it was how his laugh brightened his face even more than his smile, or how his brown eyes looked like dark chocolate, or how he looks down when he's blushing, or-... this could go on forever, couldn't it. It was all so cute, every little thing.

After thinking about his crush for a solid 10 minutes, he had made it to school where Nick was waiting for him at the front steps.

"You got here quick."

"I walk fast."

"Oh are we just telling lies now? Dude you're about as fast as a tortoise."

"And you're just as fast as me when it comes to relationships. It took you like a year to kiss Karl."

"You haven't even kissed George yet!"

"Wanna make a bet?"
"Oh god, here we go."

"If I kiss George by today, you owe me 20 bucks. If I don't, I owe you 20 bucks."

"Deal. But he has to kiss you back too."

"Deal."

They shook hands, both of them determined to win. Clay's sense of reality started to kick in though, and he realized he just willingly lost 20 bucks. No, he couldn't think like that. It was about time he confessed to George. All he needed was confidence.

The one thing he didn't have when it came to his crush.

But he was gonna do it, he felt it. Today was gonna be the day he confessed to George. Speaking of George, seeing his car pull up almost made Clay have a heart attack.

Nick elbowed him, and he elbowed Nick back before George walked up.

"Hey guys."

"Hey." Clay replied. Nick snorted and George looked at them, confused.

"What, is there some secret inside joke you guys made?"

"Yeah, we figured out who Clay simps for- OW-"

George laughed and started walking away to drop off his bag in his locker, but Clay quickly walked in after him.

"Hey I was wondering if-"

George suddenly stopped in his tracks. Clay turned to see what he was looking at, and immediately regretted it. No, no that can't be him- he moved to the UK- there's no way he came back. But his eyes said otherwise, because standing in the doorway right in front of him, was Wilbur Soot.

George's eyes lit up, giving Clay a twinge of jealousy.

"WILBUR!"

"GEORGE!"

They ran into each other and hugged tightly. Nick and Karl walked up smiling at each other, instantly stopping when they saw Wilbur. Panicked, Nick turned to Clay, who was dead glaring at Wilbur.

"Oh my god I missed you!" Wilbur's British accent- which sounded really cool, even though Clay would never admit it- just engrossed George even more.

"I missed you too!-"

"Why are you back?" Clay said abruptly, making it clear he did not want him here.

"Clay! My friend! Oh how I've missed you al-"

"What. Do. You. Want." Clay said through gritted teeth. George turned and frowned at him.

"Clay. Be nice. We haven't seen Wilbur in years."

"Best years of my life." Nick muttered.

Before things could escalate any further, the bell rang, cutting all four of them off. Nick waved to Karl and walked with a very angry and frustrated Clay to the Junior hallway.

"Look, he's probably just visiting, it'll be fine."

"No, it's not gonna be fine. He's a fucking player. He's gonna get George all wrapped up in his British ass, and then ditch him last minute and go back to the UK."

"That's not true."

"Really? Because that's exactly what he did to me." Clay turned and walked into the crowd, going to his locker.

But right in front of it, arms crossed and stubbornly leaning on the lock, was George. Clay immediately turned around, but George grabbed his hand and turned him right back. With only two inches of space between them, the air still, and their hearts pounding, only one thing could happen.

A cliffhanger. DUN DUN DUNNNNN! Halloween is over sadly, but whether you were staying home giving out candy, or out trick or treating, hopefully you had some fun! (And got lots of candy, 'cause I know I did) OH ALSO we saw some little 8 year olds dressed up as Dream and George and we all hummed the manhunt bop for a minute and then left lol- shout out to them.
