After 2 years of dating and 1 year of waiting you were finally going to visit your girlfriend, Kiriko, in Japan. You two had met in America where she was on a mission. A coffee shop for the deaf. You learned Kiriko knows Japanese sign language and had come to the cafe just interested to learn more about ASL. You weren't deaf yourself but learned sign years ago and continued to use it to communicate with the deaf in your daily life. You both hit it off quickly and exchanged digits before she left to go back to Japan. Conversation came naturally between you two, and after maybe 6 months of talking she asked if you would want to date long-distance, and you said yes. Another 6 months and she came back to America to visit you. It was one of the best weeks of your life. And now after another year of waiting you were finally going to go visit her in her home country.

The flight there was torturous. Sitting in the same seat for over 10 hours drove you crazy. You pushed through knowing it would all be worth it in the end to see your girlfriend. When you landed you opened your window to see trees surrounding the landing site. The airport was a little ways away from Kanezawa since it was such a small city. Once you exited the plane you followed the people in hopes they would lead you to baggage claim since you couldn't read the signs. Thankfully they did, and you made it. While you waited for your bag you went to the bathrooms to freshen yourself up a bit and look a little less dead. When you were done you headed back to see your bag still hadn't arrived. So you took out your phone to text Kiriko.

Hey! I'm still waiting for my bag its taking foreverrrrrrrr. Where should I meet you :)

Hi! I just got off the train and am walking there now! OMG Im sooo excited to see you! I brought a surprisee;1

You smiled at your phone when in the corner of your eye you saw your suitcase. You went to go grab it then leave the airport. You had your backpack on, suitcase in one hand, phone in the other. Your eyes searched in the crowd of people. When you saw a little someone with short dark green hair walking. You had made eye contact with the person who was deemed to be your girlfriend. Leaving your luggage behind you ran to her in which she did the same. Your chests forcefully collided as you both embraced in a way that made it feel like neither of you would ever let go. Other people at the airport looked your way but you guys didn't care. She looked up to see your luggage standing all alone little ways away from the both of you. She laughed and you both grabbed it before quickly leaving the airport not wanting to disturb anyone else.

The walk back to the train station was quick, just long enough where you could catch up on the things that happened while you two were out of contact for a bit. Once you guys were situated on the train Kiriko pulled a small box out of her bag. 

"Is this the surprise you were talking about?" you asked her. 

"Sure is, don't get your hopes up too high tho. I can't afford diamonds just yet." she joked 

"It's okay I wasn't expecting anything in the first place." she pushed the box towards you so you could open it. You lifted the dainty lid to reveal 4 pieces of onigiri neatly made and precisely placed. 

"My mom came over to make sure we had enough to eat while you were here! Now I have enough food to feed an entire country. Which is good! Because we both know I can cook." you laughed at her comment finding it sweet her mom was so supportive and caring. You took one out of the box and lifted it to your lips to take a bite. The rice was fresh, and the marinated salmon in the middle made your mouth melt. You swallowed and turned to face your beautiful girlfriend who was looking up at you waiting for you to say something. You leaned in to kiss her, she understood and closed her eyes to deepen the kiss. Once you pulled away you saw a faint blush form upon your girlfriend's cheeks. She had her answer but you still smiled at her and said, 

"Thank you."
