Annie

The car felt empty on the way to school. I found him at his locker. He turned around and shut it quickly.

"nope! Haha hi sweetheart. How are you this morning." He asked smiling like he was up to something.

"Feeling sad and alone. What are you up to?" I said squinting at him. He was acting weird.

"You'll just have to find out. I gotta go but meet me at the table behind the school at lunch."

I swear this was like the longest walk to a table ever. It was in the wooded area behind the school. As I was walking it went dark. A piece of cloth covered my eyes. I squealed.

"shh it's ok sweetheart. It's just me. I have a surprise for you." A familiar voice whispered in my ear. It was Eddie. "Walk with me."

He guided me to the table and I climbed over the bench. I waited a second, I could hear him on the other side of the table. "ok. You can look now."

I take the bandana off and gasp. Beautiful purple flowers were wrapped in brown parchment paper next to a little white box with a gold sticker on it.

"omg Eddie! What is all this?"

He pulled out a fork and pocket knife, breaking the seal on the box. He opened the lid to reveal a small piece of chocolate cake with the same purple flowers on it.

"ahhh its so beautiful! Is this for me! How come?"

"I just wanted to do something a little special, I know you were kinda a little upset last night and to be honest I needed a little bit of space. I knew I wasn't going to see you tonight, so idk I just wanted to make it up to you a little bit." He said to me.

"oh my God you did this all this morning? You didn't have to. This is fantastic." I took his hands In mine and leaned over the table to kiss him.

He handed me the fork and I took a bite. It was perfectly delicious. I hated the fork back to him and he took a bite. "pretty damn good huh?" he said shoving cake in his mouth.

"Heavenly." I said giggling.

Damn did I feel like a princess.

Veronica and I went to the mall after school.

"so um not to pry but what's it like being with Eddie?" she asked me as we sat down to eat at the food court.

"Ha. That seems to be the burning question. No he's great. He's kinda eccentric, sure there's yelling and cussing and slamming shit around but I don't mind. Ha. He's really sweet when you get to know him."

"Yeah, when I was in middle school he was in band and we did some like cross over performances with the band and the choir but by the time I got to high-school he had changed a lot..."

" oh that's cool I guess. I feel like a lot of people judge him though. I don't really know why... there are way bigger ass holes in the world ya know?"

"Yeah fer sure. As long as he's good to you." Veronica said to me.

"he is." I smiled.

We weaved in and out of a few stores. I got a pull over sweatshirt, Veronica said it was going to start getting cold soon. I just got a plain gray one. She told me that her dad was a dentist and her mom taught Sunday school, super involved in church. That's where she started singing. That's cool nothing wrong with that but I've got to get this girl to loosen up a little bit.

"Hey do you wanna do something on Tuesday night? I know it's a school night but Eddie's band is playing at the hide out and I wanna go. You should come. It'll get out kinda late but you can stay the night at my place after." I asked Veronica.

"idk...." She said.

"Oh come on come on just do it. It'll be fun." I begged her.

"Oh fine." She said rolling her eyes.

"yay!" I giggled jumping up and down.

We finished up at the mall. I dropped Veronica off and headed home. I did all my homework for the weekend. Tomorrow was Saturday and I didn't have anything to do. Thank God I really just wanted to see Eddie.
