MADELYN POV

"Holy shit, you did it!" Dustin says with his eyes wide, looking up at Steve. "You won a fight!"

"I can't believe you managed to knock out a Russian guard Steve, that's impressive." I tease, and Steve just grins.

"You think so?" Steve asks with a surprised grin on his face, and I nod.

"Yeah, I-"

"What are you doing?" I hear Erica ask Dustin, looking over to see the boy grabbing something out of the Russian guard's pocket.

"I'm getting us our ticket out of here." Dustin replies, holding up a keycard looking thing. "See?"

"You want to walk all the way back?" Erica asks, crossing her arms.

"Well, we can hang out for a bit, relax, have a picnic maybe." Dustin retorts, raising his eyebrow at Erica.

"Is he always this sarcastic?" I ask Steve in a whisper, and he just nods. "Oh, wow."

"Um, you guys?" I hear Robin call out. "There's something over here."

"Let's go." Steve starts ushering the rest of us in Robin's direction, making sure to grab my hand and give it a quick squeeze.

The five of us peer through the small glass window on the door, all of our eyes slowly widening at the sight of giant laser pointing at a glowing rip in the wall.

"What the hell is that?" I whisper, my eyes going wide.

Steve and Dustin look over at me, the both of them letting out a quiet sigh.

"That's the gate."

"Go, just get out of here!" Steve yells, the three of us older teens trying our hardest to keep the door closed so Dustin and Erica can make their escape.

"Come on you guys!" Dustin says, all three of us shaking our heads.

"No! Just go get some help, okay?" Steve yells, his eyes widening a bit when Dustin doesn't take a single step. "What the hell are you doing? I told you to get out of here!"

"I won't forget you!" Dustin yells before climbing down below the floor, sliding the grate back into place and cutting off our only chance to escape.

Shit.

The door us older teens are trying so desperately to keep closed finally bursts open, sending the three of us flying forward.

"Ow, you assholes. That wasn't very nice." I groan, sitting up and rubbing my nose. "I think I might've broken my nose."
