MADELYN POV
As the four of us are hiding from the Russian guards, I hear a loud crash coming from the center of the mall.
I peek over the edge of the counter, seeing the car that was being displayed now leaning up against the far wall.
"Maddie?!" I look up at the sound of the familiar voice, grinning from ear to ear when I see Alora and Max standing at the mall's second floor balcony.
"Alora! Max!" I do a Dukes Of Hazzard style slide over the counter that I was hiding behind, running up to the girls and pulling them both into a tight hug.
"Jesus Christ Maddie... I mean, you had everyone scared shitless, especially me." Alora whispers, brushing the stray hairs away from my face. "What happened to you? Huh? Why are you missing piercings?"
I give Alora another hug, my smile growing weaker with every passing moment. "I'm okay Alora, honestly. I'll tell you everything later, I swear."
"You know Maddie, you've always been a horrible liar." Max interjects, pulling me in for another quick hug. "You look like shit, no offense."
I roll my eyes playfully, lightly shoving Max's shoulder. "Wow, thanks kid. You really know how to woo someone."
"I'm gonna be completely honest you guys." Robin says, causing me to turn around with my eyebrow raised. "I don't understand what just happened to that car."
"El has superpowers." Dustin replies, gesturing to the younger brunette girl making her way towards the rest of us.
"I'm sorry?"
"Superpowers, she threw it with her mind." Steve says, lightly rolling his eyes. "Come on, catch up."
"That's El?" I ask Dustin, who just nods.
Robin raises her eyebrow. "Who's El?"
"I'm sorry, who are you guys?" Nancy asks, looking over at Robin and I.
"I'm Robin, I work with Steve."
"I'm Maddie, I'm Alora's sister."
"She and Maddie are the ones who translated and then cracked the top secret code." Dustin explains, causing some of the others to raise their eyebrows.
"Yeah, which is how we found out about the Russians in the first place." Steve pipes up, gesturing between me, himself, and Robin.
