Phoenix's POV

2:15pm
"Attention! Attention! An emergency has been reported in this building! Please make your way to the nearest stairwell and exit the building!" I hear the annoying emergency system say and groan as me and my roomie, Lilah, get our things and exit the building.
As we get closer to exiting the building though I see people running to their vehicles and screaming.
"When you get outside, Run to your cars as fast as you can! Don't fucking stop for anyone or anything!" I hear an RA yell as we all bolt outside and I grab Lilah as we both runt I my car, since doesn't have one, and I put it into Drive before flying out of the parking lot.
"Nix, what's going on?" Lilah asks and I shrug as I turn the radio on and I hear a civil service broadcast going out.
"This is a civil service broadcast ordered by the state of Georgia. Remain in your homes, do not go outside for any reason. The national guard and armed forces have been dispatched to the following places in the state of Georgia.
Columbus and Fort Benning, Carson, Bryant, Fairplain, and King County.
Stay inside and stay quiet, do not go outside, those infected will harm you.
This is a civil service broadcast." The radio says as it shuts off completely and I groan as I take the exit for I-85 south towards Senoia.
"Nix, my sister and brother! Their at the West Willow High!" Lilah says and I bypass the turn off to our houses and fly onto the school, only to get stopped by a cordon.
"Ma'am, there is no civilian entry permitted here. There has been an outbreak amongst the students." The national guard member says and Lilah shows him pictures of Nancy and Luke.
"Names?" He asks and she wipes away tears.
"Nancy Rae Wellington and Lukas Micheal Wellington. Nancy is in 9th grade and Lukas is in 10th." She says and he nods as one person goes to find them.
They get them and we all go back to the road and I drop them off at their house, but there's no cars in the driveway.
"Where's mom and dad?" Luke asks and I see a car behind me.
"Oh thank Jesus!" Lilah yells as she runs to her parents car and I drive on to my house.
"Phoenix!" Beth yells as I pull into the drive and I sigh as I get out of the car, Maggie and Shawn both coming to help me with my things as Daddy and Mama sit on the porch.
