Saqib's POV:
"Seriously! Yeh operation karna bohot hi mushkil hai. It was a 3 hour long surgery.", one of the nurses, Sia, spoke as we walked out of the operation theatre. "Do you even know how the patient was? The one you just operated? He is the mayor of this town."
I sighed. Taking off my blood filled gloves, and placing disposing them off in the dustbin, I spoke, "Mayor ho, ya aam aadmi. Mere liye sirf ek patient hai."
"Sir..", another nurse stopped me, "The media is outside. They wanna know your statement regarding the mayor's operation."
I looked up at her, "Mujhe tamashe karna pasand nahi hai. Hospital ke P.R.O. se boldo, wo unhe address kar lenge. And anyways its time for my next operation.", I said, signaling the other nurses to follow me.
I walked into the room, where my next patient was. The nurses gathered around her bed, examining her pulse, face, wounds etc while I spoke to the other doctor in the room.
"This looks like a neurosurgery case.", I said examining the X-Ray.
"It's a severe case Dr. Saqib. When she was brought here, we didn't expect her to survive.", he said nervously.
"Dr, her face hasn't been injured as much as her head. Most of the injury is behind her head. Why don't you examine her face once?", Sia spoke.
"Sia, main koi plastic surgeon nahi hoon. Mjhey chehra nahi, MRI dikhayein, that too right now.", I said irritated, placing the x-ray file down on the table. "Now c'mon who's getting me the MRI reports? Fast!"
The nurses began going around the room, trying to get me the MRI when Sia exclaimed, "Sir! The patient is regaining her consciousness."
I turned around to look at her, and that was it. I couldn't be more shocked.
"Ma-am, Maam, whats your name?", Sia asked the patient as she slowly opened her eyes. And that patient was none other than Aneela.
"Aneela...", escaped my lips, in a soft whisper, while I still tried to recover from my shock.
The nurses looked at me in surprise, as I took tiny steps towards Aneela.
"Aneela?..", I panicked, looking at her face, that was covered in an oxygen mask, and her head wrapped around in a bandage. "Aneela.", I said again, making sure I didn't touch her.
"Aneela! I wont let anything happen to you okay?", I said as a tear escaped my eye. I couldn't see her in that condition. "You have to fight! I've always listened to you but today you're gonna listen to me. You have to come out of this! ANEELA!"
Sara (Aneela's Mom) POV:
"Doctor job bhi hai humey sach sach batayein pls.", Jamal spoke in a shaky tone as we walked out of the elevator, onto the floor where Aneela was supposed to be.
"Look, I cant say anything now. She's in a critical condition, but out neurosurgeon is an experienced one. Don't worry.", he assured us both, but it wasn't enough. How was I supposed to be calm, when my daughter was in a hospital fighting for her life?
"Here...DR.Saqib, our neurosurgeon.", he pointed at a man walking out of Aneela's room.
"Doctor, we have to save her. Do you understand?", he said, handing a file to the other doctor.
"Saqib?", I said, as he walked towards me. "Weren't you in London?"
He nodded, but before he could say anything, I wrapped my arms around him and hugged him, while my eyes produced tears like the Niagara Falls.
