The Case Study of Vanitas (Vanitas x Reader)

Chapter 3 ~ 𝘍𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘭𝘢𝘺 𝘣𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘣𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘥

With the your trio and Jeanne. Noé and you continuously dodged all of Jeanne's attack as Vanitas were nowhere to be seen.

"Where is he!? Where is Vanitas...!!?" She demanded from the two of you only to meet with silence.

"Right here!!" Vanitas jumped out from one of the windows, delivering a kick to the female vampire though was kicked to the side instead. "Whoa!?"

Vanitas crashed into Noé and you but was caught by the white haired vampire. "Nice catch, Noé!" Vanitas complimented.

"May I throw you back!?" Noé says

"Don't!!"

Using his grappling hook, Vanitas aimed at the boxes above Jeanne causing them to fall on her while the three  of you escape.

"She's quite skilled with her outlet. Her reactions and movements are quick to speed, making it hard to land a hit. Not to mention the power her gauntlet holds." You boasts about Jeanne.

"True, but...She's far tamer than I thought." Vanitas says. "Well, that's besides the point. The plan is as I told you earlier, Noé." Vanitas brought up the plan.

"Um...sorry...What plan are you talking about...?" you ask as neither of the boys had informed you about their so-called 'plan'.

"You'll see, ma cherie~" Vanitas gave you sly smirk.

Jeanne was managed to fling away the broken boxes and find the three of you in a matter of seconds. Here she cased after you readying her gauntlet as she took aim.

"Please go on ahead!" Noé turns around in order to by the the two of you time.

"With pleasure!" Vanitas grabbed you by the wrist continuing to run ahead.

"W..Wait! What about Noé?!" You says in worry.

"Don't worry! Just trust us!" He says as you had no choice but to listen.

"Move!!" Jeanne demanded Noe.

"I refuse!"

Not wanting to waste time, she immediately attacked Noé who was able to dodged her every move. Annoyed, Jeanne slammed down at Noé only for him to dodge once more. Flipping over her he was about to strike until...

'I can do this. Even on my own—!' He thought becoming shocked at Jeanne's next move.

Using her left foot, she slammed-kicked Noé into the wall besides her. Crawling out of the hole, Noé gazed down at his hand before looking over at the battle before him.

Richie sat on the rooftop watching the fight from above. She turned around noticing her fellow dhampirs.

"Riche!"

"....Johann! Dante!" Riche says as she was hugged by Johann tightly.

"Oh, I'm so glad you're safe!" Johann pulled the poor girl into a bear hug. The three look down to see pink-red flames coming from below. Both Dante and Johann turned towards the battle recognizing the people below.

"Yep, there's the Quack, his supposedly bride and—Wait, what the...!? The Hellfire Witch...!?" Dante named in shock.

"HA!? VANITAS HAS A BRIDE??!"

"...Hmm. Finished off Noé already, did you?" Vanitas boredly says as he gaze at Noé's wreaked form.

"Don't worry. I haven't killed him." Jeanne sorta reassures. "I'm prepared to let you live, but only if you give me The Book of Vanitas." Jeanne says as she stare at you beside him, mostly healed.
