Chapter 23 ~ 𝘏𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘪𝘴𝘩

You landed on your back, with Vanitas afterward.

The blade in hand pointed straight at you.

When the dust finally settled, he accidentally and realized ...

He stab you by the chest. Realizing for what he done all he felt was panic and guilt coursed through his veins and squeezed his heart.

You weren't moving.

Vanitas ashamedly, immediately removes the blade from you and drop it beside him with a clatter. A sob escaping Vanitas' lips. Even with the incessant rain falling in the area surrounding you.

Vanitas shook you as he hold the blood pressure to your heart, wanting you to to stay alive but received no answer, "(Y/n)...no, why?"

Tears still falls, he propped you up, cradling you, and hitting your face gently to stir you awake. Your eyes remained closed.

"(Y/n)....wake up....wake up, please!" Vanitas didn't want to believe you could be dead, he couldn't fathom the possibility.

Still, there was no denying the fact that you had been greatly injured on multiple occasions while trying to reach him... Had you finally reached your limit?

"Don't go! I won't let you!" he desperately won't let you die as he reach his knife and cut his own wrist drawing blood out. Taking his own blood by sucking in his mouth and pour it with your own lips intertwine. 

 Vanitas was hoping his blood will work to heal you. Once he removes his lips from yours he hope he saved you in time.

Still nothing.

Tears blurred his vision. "Come on (n/n), I know you can hear me! Wake up! What about Anos? What about everyone you met? They'd be devastated if you don't wake up."

His voice cracked as he spoke his next words ever so softly, "...What about me? We had a deal, remember? I told you that I will make Karlheinz pay whoever hurt you. So wake up, please, wake up. You can't leave me all alone!"

Noe finally been released by your blood arts as he took the scene seeing Vanitas desperately trying to save you. He felt heat broken by the looks from Vanitas. His heart aches as well seeing that you aren't waking up and cried.

Jeanne can only see what's going on, Mikhail was shock as to see his brother clinging a small bit of life for a Dragon-Phoenix.

Yuki from afar was way more surprised than everyone. How could someone like Vanitas can possibly cling to you like this?

It almost reminds her years ago when Kaname risk everything for her other than Zero. But now that's gone. She can't possibly be thinking that you can have everything. 

Unbeknownst to Vanitas, you conscious have return. You cough up a bit making Vanitas pull back slightly to see your face. You opened her eyes to stare back at him.

"V-Vanitas..." You rasp some of your lungs for air.

For a solid minute, Vanitas sat there, teary eyes unblinking and mouth agape in surprise, "You're...alive?"

"Vanitas...." you reach tiredly caressing his cheek wiping away his tears with your thumb. "I..."

Vanitas pulled you closer so you are hearing his heart beat. His head rested on yours, brushing you long twilight black hair as he let out a shaky breath in relief that he saved you and cry so hard. "Don't...it's not your fault...it's mine...it's all mine...I'm sorry."
