Beomgyu saw his mom only once from the whole month that had passed since his move-out, and he only saw her when he visited Jihyo. Turns out having her miserable son gone has brought her to the haunting realization that she had been a bad mom and treated her son like absolute crap from the moment she adopted him.
Beomgyu never knew seeing his ridiculous mother beg for forgiveness would emit some sort of satisfaction in him, but it did.
He went home that day happy—which sounds crazy but at this point it really doesn't matter—and Soobin had given him a weird look.
To top it off, Haneul had approached him during school hours and asked for another chance! And, okay, maybe Beomgyu pulled a bitch move making a scene of it all, but hey, now everyone knows Haneul is a lying bastard and it's what he deserves.
Beomgyu on the other hand, deserves a break. A break from everything, and the best way to relax these days was to hang around with Yeonjun.
Huening Kai was busy binding his relationship with Taehyun. It had him crying to Beomgyu on more than one occasion. Mostly about relationship advice like he doesn't have the worst relationships ever, but he's glad Kai is able to go to him for stuff like that. Yeonjun had also helped Kai as well.
Speaking of Yeonjun, he had gotten a lot more comfortable with Beomgyu overtime. What he means by that is he'd gotten a lot more touchy. He touches his hair and puts his hand on his thigh, he messes around with his bag and fingers at loose strings. He pins clips to his hair and compliments him, and he pinches his cheek but thumbs at it afterwards as a silent apology. He massages his shoulders and neck when it gets stiff, and he sends him flying kisses as a way to say goodbye. He chips the nail polish off his nails and repaints them when he feels like it and he wears Beomgyu's sweaters and doesn't give it back until it smells like him completely (we'll ignore the fact that Beomgyu spends more time digging his nose into the fabric than doing everyday things). Yeonjun had slowly fit himself next to Beomgyu until it felt weird when he wasn't there.
"Hi Beoms," Yeonjun singsongs. Great, he comes at the time Beomgyu was thinking about him. Yeonjun slings an arm around his waist, pulling him outdoors and onto the fields. He guessed they were headed off to the bleachers again, like always. "I made something for you!" Oh, how terribly wrong he was.
Instead of the bleachers, Yeonjun leads him past it and onto the field where a blanket was set up and a basket. Typical, typical Yeonjun. "What's this?"
"A picnic! I bought this basket specifically for it. It's so nice, too." Yeonjun sits on the blanket, next to the basket, and pats his lap. His fucking lap, of all things. "Come, come."
"Um," Beomgyu voices instead of sitting down. "Like, on your.."
"No, silly," oh thank fuck. "In front of me!"
Now, why the fuck would he need to do that?
"Are you planning something? Are you conspiring against me? What did I do? I thought we were on good terms, Yeonju-" he doesn't finish his sentence as Yeonjun pulls him down and into his arms.
"Shut up, will you," he sighs. "Can't I be a good, um. Friend?"
"Friend," Beomgyu repeats. The word didn't sound right, "friends. I don't think that's the right word for whatever the fuck you've been doing."
