Samara and Derek stand in the parking garage outside the grocery store. "What are we doing here?" Samara asks.
"We're training Scott."
"Yeah, but why now?" she asks. "It too late for this." she complains.
"It's 8pm." Derek deadpans looking at the teen.
"Yeah, and I'm still sore from being electrocuted. Which you didn't let me heal." she says, giving the werewolf a pointed look.
After he cleaned up her wound he wouldn't let her heal it, not knowing if something was wrong on the inside as well. If she healed it, the wound would only heal on the outside. So if something was wrong on the inside they wouldn't know.
If Samara was being honest she wasn't actually mad at him. She upset that she couldn't heal it and get rid of the pain but other than that, it was nice to know someone cared about her.
"Damn it. Oh, crap. No. No, stop." Scott mutters as he runs away, hiding behind a car, trying to turn his phone off.
"You're dead." Derek tells her after he throws Scott onto the car.
"What - what the hell was that?" Scott asks.
"Said we was gonna teach you. We didn't say when." Samara says.
"You scared the crap out of me."
"Not yet." Derek comments.
"Okay, but I was fast, right?" Scott asks.
"Not fast enough." Samara shakes her head.
"But - but the car alarm thing, that was smart, right?"
"Till your phone rang."
"Yeah, but that was - I mean - Would you just stop? Please? What happened the other night, Stiles' dad getting hurt, that was my fault. I should have been there to do something. I need you to teach me how to control this."
"Look, I am what I am because of birth. You were bitten. Teaching someone who was bitten takes time. I don't even know if I can teach you." Derek tells him.
"What do I have to do?"
"You need to get rid of distractions. All of them." Samara says grabbing his phone and handing it to Derek. "That's why you got caught. You wanna be taught?" she asks making him nod. "Then say bye to her, wolf boy." she says.
"What, just because of her family? Wait - wait - whoa - whoa!" Scott calls out, his anger rising after Derek threw his phone at the wall.
"You getting angry? That's your first lesson. You want to learn how to control this, how to shift, you do it through anger, by tapping into a primal animal rage, and you can't do that with her around." Derek explains to him.
"I can get angry." Scott tells the two.
"Clearly not angry enough. This is the only way we can teach you. So, can you stay away from her? Until the full moon?" Samara asks.
"If that's what it takes."
"Do you want to live? Do you want to protect your friends? Yes or no?" Derek asks.
