It didn't happen much that Pick would be home alone without Rome. And it was rare for him to have a day off. When Rome found out, he cried, not wanting to go to his job. Pick had a hard time pushing him out of the house after that. He had a plan for today, and Rome being home would ruin that. Pick wasn't romantic, but from time to time, his heart yearned to align with his beloved through sweet gestures.
Pick roamed through the kitchen, pondering if he should try cooking or go for a safer option. In the end, he ordered food from Rome's favourite restaurant. He decored the table with red roses, candles and their best plates. He was satisfied with his creation. Pick was done. And while waiting for the food to be delivered, he pulled out the photo album hidden in the nearby bookshelf. Looking at the photos, mainly taken by Rome himself, he had to smile. All of their memories were there. Tracing his fingers across his boyfriend's cute face, he wondered why he denied his feeling for so long a caused Rome so much pain.
The doorbell rang, ripping him out of the reminiscing. Pick paid for the food and put the containers on the kitchen counter. He checked the time, realizing it was almost time for the last arrangement. He went to their bedroom, picking out the fanciest shirt and pants he owned. After changing, he checked himself in the mirror. The only thing missing was the small velvet box hidden in the drawer. Putting the thing inside his pants pocket, he walked back to the kitchen.
Only a few minutes more and Rome will walk through the door into the happiest day of his life.
