Author's note: Part 26/?? of Sean/White/Black doctor story.
The situation with his father was just so irritating. White couldn't go to the clinic for the time being, and old habits and fears from the past threatened to appear. He was stuck with the gang at the hideout for the time being because his brother was paranoid enough not to leave him alone in their apartment. Not that White was protesting. He welcomed company when his mind started to act out again.
Black was out of the building with Dan, asking around about their father. His twin was reluctant to leave him alone with the rest of the gang, but White assured him he would be alright. He chatted with Yok and Gram for a while before Yok fell asleep, and Gram went out to buy them food. Gumpa was out exercising, and Sean was nowhere to see for a bit now.
White was left alone in the improvised living space, sitting on the couch, looking into the blank space. Black wasn't gone for that long, but it certainly felt different. Various scenarios played inside his head, and every one of them included his older brother captured by their father.
The warm hand landed on his shoulder, ripping him out of thinking. White looked up, recognizing Sean.
"Come with me." He said, helping him stand up. Their hands clasped together, and the fingers intervened. White didn't have time to think about the heat warming his palm when Sean dragged him to the old staircase.
"I am not going to hurt you." Sean smiled, sensing his hesitation.
"I have a small surprise for you." He added, gesturing to the stairs. White nodded slowly, letting the taller male guide him upstairs. The upper floor was in a similar state to the one they came from. Sean pulled at his arm, leading him further inside the space. They stopped in front of the small tent. It looked nice and comfortable for a short nap.
"I thought you would like to take a nap somewhere more comfortable than the old couch," Sean spoke up. White blinked away the forming tears, glancing at the older man. How could he be so kind and considerate? He didn't understand why Black hated Sean so much.
"Thank you," White whispered, looking back and forth between Sean and the tent.
"Go inside then." Sean smiled again, pushing him towards the entrance gently. White toed off the borrowed shoes and crawled inside. The soft blankets under his feet and hands made him smile. Spotting an old-looking pillow, he arranged it to his liking.
"Good?" Sean asked, receiving a nod from him.
"I'll be nearby if you need me," Sean said, ready to walk away. White's heart squeezed painfully, seeing Sean's receding back. He didn't want him to go.
"Sean, can you stay with me here?" He mumbled loudly enough for the older to hear him and stop him in the tracks.
"If you want me to." Sean beamed. It didn't take him a second to occupy the other side of the tent, waiting for White to lie beside him. With a deep sight, White nestled too. He glanced at Sean, biting his lower lip. White wanted to snuggle closer and bury his face in Sean's chest, but he was afraid. Those feelings weren't foreign to him, but his father hated same-sex love and White was frightened he would find out.
