*kate made a pffft sound and covered her mouth holding back laughter.* "okay now say Do I look like someone who cares what God thinks?"

"Kate, are you seriously still on about Hellraiser?"

"Yes! It's a fantastic film! And you do such a perfectly good impression. Go on then! Steph! We graduate in a month and then We are off to study film! We won't see each other for 3 months when I leave for the states."

"Yeah precisely. And if you get that audition then you won't even be going to film school with me."

"Ugh Kate you know I hate being called that. Pooh Bear."

"Yeah ugh no. But you know why I don't like being called that. Anna ruined it for me when she gutted him in front of me when I told Aaron Perry that she liked him. I had pooh since I was two. My gramma got him for me and she called me her Pooh Bear. She passed away, I thought I was helping Anna by telling Aaron but it somehow made her cross. She gutted my Winnie the Pooh bear. So no. No one calls me that anymore. Mia is your middle name, so why don't you like it? It's beautiful."

"Because mum likes it and I don't like mum. She's so nosey. Steph sounds way cooler anyway. Sounds more grown up and attractive." Stephanie flipped her long, loose curled brunette hair and shook her shoulders.

"For fuckin' whom?" Kate gasped and smiled. "Do you fancy someone?"

Stephanie looked down and away quickly shaking her head no. "It's no one"

"Oh" Kate clicked her tongue and sighed, crossing her arms and rolling her eyes. "Thought we told each other everything. You're just a secretive cow."

"I'm not a cow. You Twat." Stephanie shoved at Kate and Kate shoved her best friend back harder. They shoved each other harder and harder giggling until they both fell, Stephanie landing on top of Kate, their mouths centimeters apart. They stared at each other, neither of them moving, in a blink they had kissed. It lasted longer than this being able to be played off as an accident but Stephanie jumped away from Kate. She couldn't say anything all she could do was panic quietly. Kate was still on her back, supported up by her elbows, frozen in the position she had fell in. When neither of them said anything, Kate stood up and walked backwards towards the bedroom door.

"I gotta go." Kate turned quickly and closed the door behind her as she started down the stairs. She came to a complete halt and turned, staring up at Stephanie's door. Her heart screaming to go back in there. She ran back up the stairs and threw the door open. Stephanie was wiping tears from her face, sitting on her bed.

"Are you okay? Did you leave something?" Stephanie sniveled out.

"Yeah. I left you, steph. I don't gotta go." Kate shook her head no and sat down next to Stephanie. "So, do you know what the name Mia means?" Kate asked and Stephanie shook her head no, her expression confused. "It means mine. Mia means mine. I like that." Kate smiled softly at her best friend. "I knew that the whole time. And everytime I called you Mia, Mine is what I meant." Kate watched as Stephanie processed that information. She noticed the subtle relief in Stephanie's posture, Kate knew her best friend better than anybody even her body language. Kate knew it was now or never. "Steph, do you...is it me you fancy?" Kate felt her stomach knot up as she saw the fear shine like a lighthouse from Stephanie's eyes.

"I....Kate, I'm....oh god." Stephanie covered her eyes as she cried hard, unleashing her pent up pain. "Don't hate me." She crumbled and Kate caught her before she fell into the floor, holding her close to her chest as she cried.

"No, Steph I could never hate you. Never ever not in a bloody chance in hell."

"I'm a lesbian. I've hid it for 2 years." Stephanie dared not look at Kate. "I've been in love with you for just as long. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." She sobbed and it broke Kates heart. Truth was when she asked her who she fancied, Kate wanted it to be her. And it didn't take but 5 seconds after panicking to realize she wanted that kiss too. She wanted more kisses. Stephanie's kisses.

"No, don't. Don't be sorry." Kate was now no longer holding her but wiping the tears from Stephanie's face as she tried to hide her face from Kate. "Steph, I wanted you to kiss me. I only ran because after you refused to speak I had to get the heck out of dodge. It was adrenaline and fear of rejection. I came back, I told you why I truly call you Mia, if the maths aren't mathing Steph I don't know how to be anymore clear, then I've got to do this." Kate lifted Stephanie's face to look at her. Mascara had ran down her face and stained her cheeks but Kate didn't care. She cupped Stephanie's face in her hands and kissed her again. Even longer than the first time. "I love you like that back. I don't know my sexuality yet, leaning towards bi but I'm not sure if I like boys that much yet. But I do know I want to be your girlfriend and if we broke up I know our friendship has stood strong for 7 years. We could overcome it. Will you come to the states with me?"

"Really? You...you mean all of that?" Stephanie hiccuped from crying.

"Dead serious. I want this new relationship to have it's chance, I was already having a hard time with leaving my best friend behind but my girlfriend? Oh it's just too much. I can't bare the thought. We can get you a ticket. No problem."

"Will you kiss me again?" Stephanie asked Kate timidly. Kate laughed and scooted closer, touching her nose to Steph's.

"No problem." Kate pressed her lips to Stephanie's and sighed happily.
