8.Promotion and Protecting his sons innocence

The journey to the palace was a bit nerve wrecking for the Bangs, with Hyunjin playing with his hair to ease his nerves. Whilst JeongIn's concentration was on putting together a block puzzle as to not think about what was going to happen in a few hours .

Chan and Felix were holding hands with Felix relying on his alphas touch to ease his nerves whilst Chan was now a bit laid back about it but was still thinking about the demand he was going to make.

'So help me god to come out successful on this journey' he says a little prayer in his heart.

Hyunjin POV

We arrive at the palace at 4 pm and I see an entourage of guards and palace maids waiting outside to welcome us after we freshen up, But I feel a little shy with all these people bowing to us. I cling to my mother for comfort as an eunuch welcomes us.

"Welcome to the palace, if you may follow me to the palace hall" the eunuch says bowing to us and leading the way.

On the palace grounds the grass is evenly cut and they have peach and cherry blossom trees surrounding the place and a rose garden that i can see not far away. The courtyards are very extravagant with the tall buildings made of brick and gold truly worth being called the home of the dragon.

The eunuch leads us to the palace hall and as we enter. I realize I'm not the only one mesmerized by the interior my mom is admiring the beautiful flowers and JeongIn eyeing maps, Only father has a straight face. The shiny marble floor with beautiful paintings hung up on the walls and a beautiful light thing that's hanging on the ceiling.

"Please sit down and wait for the royal highnesses" he bows and leaves us with a few guards and maids to wait on us.

"Eomma" I whisper next to his ear and he just hugs me and smile,

"I can't comfort you with my pheromones Hyunnie , we are now in the palace and can't scent the place" he says which makes sense .

A few minutes after waiting the door opens revealing officials to which we stand and salute them as they sit down on the opposite side .

"Annyeong Haseyo to the officials of the king" our father leads in greeting and we follow after him,

Author POV

"Greetings to the Bangs" a catty looking official sitting right under the Kings chair greets back as some just nod.

"Bang-Ssi I didn't know that the omega which the crown prince had chosen was your child" official Min Yoongi says with a smile.

"Yes it is my son Official Min" Chan says respectfully.

"Hmm I see, now that your family is going to be based in the capital and close to the royals, will you now take the promotion of being a second rank official?" The official asks with a gaze directed at Chan whilst some officials snicker in amusement.

"Tch what makes you so sure that the check will be successful, after all what's good about a low rank family joining the palace" another official chips in before Chan answers and he clenches his fists resisting the urge to punch someone talking about his family that way.

Official Min Yoongi snickers thinking about whether these officials have water in their brains, But then again Bang Chan had kept a low profile  and refused promotion to being a second rank official many times.

Min Yoongi had always wanted  the strategy war genius to join their ministry of war affairs since a long time. Its just that the other party has always refused saying he doesn't want to move his family from the comfort of their home in Laventer. That's why Bang Chan had to come to the capital every month to assist them and bring solutions concerning war affairs.
