7.The Palace and traditions

Jungkook Pov

The imperial decree arrived first thing in the morning with my fathers trusted shadow guard Hoseok but I told him to wait until mid morning to deliver it, I didn't want to shock my bride to be and in-laws first thing in the morning.

After Hoseok left for Hyunjins house, I immediately left for the palace so that I can be there to welcome my bride and talk about my betrothal and wedding with my father and the officials.

I arrived at the palace around 12 noon and I saw the decorations already put up , even though it wasn't that extravagant it was still eye catching which is how I wanted it my mother truly knows my taste.

I see my mother ordering some maids around to do something whilst waiting for me,

"Good afternoon mother, I see everything is going well" I kiss his cheek and hold his soft hand as we walk around the garden .

"Good afternoon to you too and yes everything is going well , I'm excited for your engagement that's why I need everything to be perfect" I hear him say with pride in his eyes as he's looking at me.

I really love my mother and everything he's done for me , although I may not show it I'm grateful for his love and Care during my episodes. Him making sure I'm doing well instead of focusing on accumulating power on the throne like some Queens in other countries .

"And I'm confident that you'll do a wonderful job eomma" I say kissing his cheek and right after I see a single tear rolling down his cheek and he wipes it fast.

"That's the seventh time you've called me eomma and I love you too son , now let's go your father needs to talk to us about the ceremony" he says trying to mask his happiness from me by calling him eomma but his smile is betraying him.

The happy mother and son enter the palace hall as the eunuch announces their arrival to the king and elders inside,

"Please kneel in greeting for the mother of the nation Queen Kim Seokjin and the Crown Prince Jeon Jungkook" the elders and guards kowtow in greeting only the king remains seated on his throne .

"You may be at ease" Jin says after him and Jungkook sit down on their seats .

"The discussion shall commence" Namjoon says opening the discussion about Jungkooks wedding.

"Prince Jungkook the king informed us that you have found a beautiful flower that you want to keep for yourself in the city of Laventer" Min Yoongi the first elder says.

"Yes that us indeed true, I want to pluck it out and keep it only for myself" Jungkook answers in a cold tone that sends shivers to the elders making them rethink their questions before asking him, but elder Min Yoongi on the other hand was unaffected by the tone completely unbothered as he had spent time with the younger to know his personality .

"As the crown prince you must be aware that you can't just pick any flower but you must pick an extraordinary one" elder Soobin says.

"Yes elder Soobin is right you mustn't just pick a flower based on beauty but also it's capabilities" another elder adds.

"That's true what if the flower has the heart of black lotus" elder 4 says.

"Are you doubting my ability to choose a wife myself, should I wait on you to bring me your sons and daughters so you could be close to the crown" the chilling answer by Jungkook made the officials close their mouths and hope they didn't provoke the dragon .

"I'm sure that's not what they mean Jungkook, They are showing concern and wish for you to take a bride that will stand by your side through thick and thin and not waver during storms" King Namjoon says enlightening the tense atmosphere.

'King Namjoon really knows his way with words' the officials thought in their heads and nodded to agree with the leader of the nation.

"Don't worry, I've done my research he's not a black lotus and whether or not he'll stay by my side during hard times that's for me to worry about"

"We understand"

"OK then when the Bang Family arrives he shall be immediately sent to physician Jimin for a maiden check" the health official states .

"Are you doubting my Omegas purity" Jungkook asks irritated thinking about some physician seeing Hyunjin's flower.

"Its tradition Jungkook , every bride that enters the palace must be checked and don't worry I'll be there" Jin says saving the Minister of Healths head from Jungkook.

"Fine " the young Alpha answers still not liking the so called tradition.

"Another matter is the matter of the chosen becoming the official wife"

"That ones easy if the chosen is literate, studied etiquette and has a good heart all will be well" Min Yoongi says calmly sipping on jasmine tea thinking about these other ministers who really don't know how to go about matters including the crown prince,

'Maybe they don't like their heads' he lazily says to himself in his mind thinking about going to take a nap after this meeting is over so he can be rejuvenated on the ceremony .

"That's correct Minister Min , as for other duties the chosen shall be taught in the palace" The King says and dismisses the meeting everyone going about their business.

"Mother where's Taehyung " Jungkook asks thinking about his little brother who he has not seen yet .

"He's in his room sulking about why you didn't tell him about the omega you fancied" Jin says thinking about the younger who shut himself in his room earlier when he told him the news.

"I'll go apologize, wish me luck" he says heading straight to the omegas room where he immediately smells a sour scent thinking about how he made his Tae sad but he manages to save himself from a pillow beating and promised to tell the younger everything from now on.

(A/n : I'm sure y'all know that *Eomma means mom and the elders are talking about Hyunjin not being the right person for Jungkook*
