Set

I obviously got to the Atet before anyone else did. I just had to take in the chunks missing out of the prow and the fact that I could see through the hull to know that last night's battle had been bad. The Atet was going to need patching before taking off again.

However, I was a little more worried of something else.

"Father!" I cried heading towards the boat to try to board. The gangplank came down and my father calmly walked towards me. He didn't look that bad, a bit singed, his arm was wrapped up and I knew right then and there that he was going to request I go up with him.

I didn't want to leave.

I wanted to stay with Robin, figure out if she'd be okay with kissing me again.

"Hello, my boy," he said as he came towards him. "We'll need Phthah for the patches, you should call him."

I waved a hand off so one of my servants would go to get him.

"And I'm not in the best of health so I will need you... probably longer then normal."

Great, just great.

And it wasn't like I could say anything, I could see that his arm was injured. He wouldn't be able to control the helm with an injured arm, nor would he really be able to fight. Definitely couldn't do both like he normally did.

"No need to pull a face, Set. It is your duty."

I hadn't realized that I was making a face, but I guess I was making one. "I know," I snap glumly.

I'm allowed to be disappointed. I was finally making moves with Robin, finally getting the kind of reaction I've always wanted from a desired partner.

His eyes have moved away from me, to something behind me. I turn and found that Robin was behind me.

"You just ran off and... I wanted to make sure everything's okay."

On the one hand, it was nice she cared. On the other hand, why? Why couldn't she have just stayed behind? Maybe go to her room? Go get a new book? She did like Seshat's library.

Her eyes, however are on my father and I realize that they've never met. And, if we're being honest, I would have preferred to keep it that way.

Can't do that now.

"Robin, this is my father, Ra."

I purposely didn't bother to tell my father who she was, he knew everything, he knew who she was. I could tell she found that odd though.

"Hello," she says softly and offers out a hand for him to shake.

He takes it almost warmly, his eyes trailing up and down her, taking all of her in and I find that I don't like the way my father is looking at her.

There's something in his eyes, a sort of knowing that makes me nervous.

I don't need him blurting out the secrets of my heart when they were still mostly secret to me. "Can you maybe call more servants for me, please?"

She nods excitedly her eyes turning back to Ra. "I've just learned how..."

"And she's coming into her powers. How nice," Ra says. "The other didn't you know. I knew she wouldn't, never would."

"Stop it," I snarl and he falls silent once more though he does shoot me a bit of a smirk.

I leave him on that gang plank and push her away. "Just ignore him. He... he's all knowing and he's obnoxious about it. Servants, please. Also Phthah will be coming, could you wait for him?"
