Robin
I literally had no idea what to do. I'm not even joking.
I have a basic understanding of first aid, but I didn't know what was supposed to help Set.
As soon as I had established that I couldn't wake him up, I woke up the palace instead. I screamed and cried for help for a good five minutes but no one came. Which was bullshit because I knew Set had servants, so why weren't they answering me?
So I shouted, on the top of my lungs, mind you: "Someone better fucking come to service me or so help me, all of you are FIRED!"
And servants showed up. These pale grey, slow moving, people all in the same uniform. A black kilt like thing, much like Set was prone to wearing, and plain unadorned wide collars.
They were all male.
And they were all staring at me from under hooded eyes. Mainly because they were all in sort of subservient half bow.
"Didn't you hear me screaming for help?" I had asked them and they had said nothing.
For a while I was worried that Set was the only one who could get these people to talk but, eventually, I explained what happened, showed them the body of the snake and repeated that he had been bitten and needed some sort of doctor and then finally, FINALLY, the did something.
Granted they vanished again, but they eventually came back with a healer of sorts.
And this woman at least talked to me.
She was dressed like how I would think a shaman would be dressed. All fur pelts wrapped up in togas, hunched over with a giant walking stick adorned with a glowing looking crystal.
She waved it over him, waved it over the snake and then turned to me and said: "This is a matter for the gods."
Well what the fuck lady?
The sun had begun to rise at this point, I hadn't managed to sleep a wink, I was scared, and stressed and no one would help me.
I nearly smacked a little old lady.
But no. No, I held back, I thanked her for her time, being sure to stress that she actually wasn't of much help and then shooed her out of the room.
Did I want to go back to Osiris' castle after yesterday's incident. Hell no. Did I know of any other gods? No. Would I know where to find any other gods? No. So if I wanted to save Set, which I did, I was going to have to suck it up and go back to that stupid palace and ask for help.
So I made my way back. I let myself in, ignored all the orders from guards to halt and stop and stormed right back onto that patio behind the castle where Set first introduced me properly to Osiris.
He was once again there, having breakfast with his wife and the man with the impossible blue eyes who wouldn't stop staring at me. He gave me a brief once over before waving off the guards who had followed me in.
"What do you want now? Come to steal my breakfast away?"
I was tempted to hit him back with some sass but that wouldn't help me right now. "No, I need you to come to Duat like right now. It's an emergency."
Osiris huffed, his eyes still on his breakfast, which was a plate of decedent fruit. Already my stomach was rumbling, reminding me that I hadn't eaten since yesterday afternoon but I didn't have time to eat.
"All matters regarding Duat are Set's concern," he says and then made a big show of looking for him before asking me: "Where is he anyway? Is he pinned down by savages again? That's what he gets for allowing them to reside in his kingdom."
