Something wet trickled down my neck.

At this point, I couldn't even guess what it could be. Water, sweat, blood- could be anything, really.

Grunting, I wiggled my neck to get rid of the weird liquid and realised how much heavier my head felt from the last time I'd raised it. However, with no way of knowing time, I couldn't really tell how long it'd been since I'd been hanging here upside down, soaking wet and in complete darkness.

My memory after seeing Crow is just blank and trying to think about it  causes hyperventilation and panic. Not a really good mix in my current state.

To keep myself distracted, I keep myself occupied by thinking of hom- of Reaper's Disciples. Of Blaze and all the others.

The last couple of months seem like a dream now, like a fantasy I'd dreamt up while living this nightmare that is my life. It was good while it lasted.

Now, I just wait for my inevitable demise while only hoping it is quick. I know it won't be so.

"Good morning, dearest Beretta"

I willed my mouth to form the words 'fuck you' . But based on the cruel chuckle coming from somewhere behind me, I knew my brain didn't forward the drill.

"Get her down, Benji", metal groaned and protested as I felt my limbs loosen. "It's time for a little chat"

I braced just before I smacked painfully into the ground. Then, I closed my eyes and relished the feeling of blood flowing in my legs and arms. So at peace, I could fall asleep regardless of the Devil incarnate grinning down at me. Something nudged my ribs painfully- a foot, Crow's.

"Good morning"

"Not anymore that I've seen you", I said as I stretched and yawned. "Anyways, How can I help you?"

Crow sank into a comfortable looking chair before he smirked condescendingly. "I need nothing from you, Beretta. You're the one who just lost everything. Your plans, your life-," he raised a busy brow, "-your family"

I maintained a carefully clueless mask and tilted my head curiously.

"Outlaws have no families, Beretta. Didn't you learn that at your Academy?"

Benji stepped forward and stepped on one of my numerous stab wounds. I bared my teeth as he grinned and winked at me, the bastard.

"Not sure what you mean"

"Oh but you do. It seems you found some lost family. I see why you risked everything now". He stood up to pace around me while Benji brandished a glinting knife and buried it into my shoulder.

"It wasn't enough, though. Tell me, where is your dearest brother? Diesel would never risk an attack with his low reinforcements", he smiled sadly. As if he pitied me. "Not with his very pregnant wife and certainly not for a sister he met less than 6 months ago"

My thigh burnt next and Crow's words sounded muffled.

"So, what is it you protect, Beretta? No one is coming for you", Benji savagely pulled the knife from my thigh, winked again. The fucker was having the time of his life, wasn't he?

"Where. Are. The. Disciples. Hiding", Crow yanked me up by my hair. "Trust me, this all stops and you get a peaceful end once you give me what I want. And you know I'm a man of my word"

I opened my mouth just as Benji found a new place to puncture. Crow motioned for something but all I could see was a grey blur in front of me.

My scream drowned out his next words as a ringing started in my ears. I could see his lips moving but heard no sound. Tears leaked out without consent and disappeared into my hairline as I tipped my head back in anguish.

And I gave up.

Faces flashed behind my eyes- Blaze, Jules, Diesel, Psycho and all of the Reapers. Moments I'd been happiest. Then, the one man who had started all this- Machete. Oh dad, I failed you.

This hell of a lot seemed like the end. And I was happy

That was when the stone wall with the small crack crashed in a flash of dirt and dust.

"Rise and Shine, motherfuckers"
