Long Way Down

Prologue

He was evil. The devil reincarnated. He was her worst nightmare. He teased her, laughed at her, picked on her, verbally bullied her. He did all of this with the help of his friends. He was Mr Popular and she was the loser. But with all this being said, she was still madly and unconditionally in love with him.

"Alex!", I heard him call out my name.

"Alex! Please wait!", he screamed. I ignored him and ran as fast as I could. What does he want from me? I didn't mean to bump into him, it was a mistake that I regretted instantly.

Suddenly I felt a strong, firm arm wrap around my arm sending these tingles of pleasure throughout my body. All of a sudden I had this weird urge to smash my mouth against this beautiful boy in front of me and kiss the life out of him. Gosh, Alex! Get over him, he hurts you everyday! And after all the things his done I really shouldn't be having these feelings.

"Alex", he gasped for air. I flinched away from him and was about to take off again when he caught ahold of my arm.

"Wait, Alex. I just wanted to", he started but I cut him of.

"Please leave me alone."

"What? No Alex. I-"

"Please, Zak. It was a mistake. I promise to never come near you again. Just please, please don't hurt me", maybe if I begged I could get out of this alive.

"Alex, I just wanted to-", he got cut of by another voice. One that I hated.

"Oh! There you are! I've been looking for you everywhere. Oh, I see you've been busy with the little tramp", Lee sneers.

Zak's ex girlfriend but,unfortunately, current friend is and will always will be the ultimate bitch!

I've grown accustom to her insults but today it seems that my tears want to make an appearance. I look away while Zak tells her to shut up. I turn and walk away but I didn't even get two feet away when I was pulled back.

"Wait, where are you going?", he asks. I flinch away from his touch but my eye's along with his are caught in a staring contest. I feel myself getting lost in the pull so I avert my gaze. His beautiful blue-green eyes have always been my weakness. Arg! Alex, stop! You can't keep on loving someone who doesn't reciprocate those feelings, its a lost cause.

"Please, Zak. Just leave me alone", I try.

"No, Alex", he says sternly and its almost as if he's hurt that I would say that to him. Almost. What did he expect? After everything his done to me ... But I'm done. I'm so done with their bullshit.

"What have I ever done to you?", I finally ask the question I've wanted to ask for years. I don't know where the sudden bravery came from but I've got nothing else to lose so what the hell, right?

"What?", he asks.

"No, seriously. I've never done anything to you yet you constantly torment me. Is it you ultimate goal in life to make me hate myself and my life", I ask.

"You know that's not true", he says sternly but the hurt in his eyes are shining as bright as a neon sign.

"Oh, I get it. You wanted to make my life a living hell, right? Well congradulations, you already did", I say, and with that being said I turn and run away from him all the way home with my tears streaming down my face.
