I wake up to the harsh sunlight sneaking its way through the gaps in my curtains. Ah, Saturday. The weekend is finally here. I check the time on my phone and see that its almost ten. Yeah, I wake up late. I'm a growing girl and no matter what anyone says nothing is going to change that. My sleep is too important to me. And I might of heard somewhere that the more you sleep the more you grow, and if I'm being honest with myself ... I seriously need to grow taller.

I decided to get out of bed, reluctantly, and head into the bathroom to brush my teeth and to shower. When I was done, I got out and changed into my summer dress that was white with pretty flowers on them. I paired it with my denim jacket and black strap sandles, did my hair in light waves and did my face with natural make up and was ready to head down.

While heading downstairs I heard voices coming from there. The kitchen to be more prescise. Huh, wonder who came to visit  so early? I shrugged to myself and went to have a look.
When I got there I immediately froze. My face was plastered with shock. There, in my kitchen, were the Rider's, sitting and having a jolly good time with my mother while having breakfast.
I haven't seen them in years. That has something to do with the fact that they're always traveling since they're business people.
So yes, Zak and l know each other really well. We used to be best friends for years, but all that changed when we entered high school.

We used to have sleepovers almost everyday when we were little. We did everything together. And when I say everything, I mean everything. We played together, ate together, slept on the same bed together. We knew each other better than we know anyone else, ourselves included. But I guess something in him clicked and he didn't want to be seen with me anymore. I guess that kind of made sense in a way. The hot bad boy seen with and average loser doesn't seem to go well together.
I heard a gasp then a squeal and was immediately embraced in a tight hug.

"Oh my gosh! Alex! I haven't seen you for years!" Anne, Zak's mother says to me. She was like my own mother but I guess that changed.

"Hi, Anne", I say smiling. "It has been a long time, hasn't it?"

"Wow, Alex. You've grown into a beautiful young lady" Mark, Zak's father says to me.

"You don't look so bad yourself, old man" I teased with a play-full wink. I guess old habits die hard.

"Guess old age is starting to show, huh?" He asked with a frown.

"I'm kidding. You don't look a day over twenty nine," I say smiling.

"Come here, kiddo," he says opening his arms for a hug with a smile present on his face.

I hugged him but when I pulled back I saw tears in his and Anne's eyes.

"God, we missed you so much", he says pulling me into another bone crushing hug with Anne joining in.

"I missed you guys too. A lot." I mumbled.
When we pulled back Anne had a frown on her face.

"Then why didn't you come over anymore? We asked Zak to bring you over so many times but he always had an excuse", she says still frowning.
I quickly look over to Zak to see him looking outside but not before looking at me.

"Er ... Erm ... Yeah, I guess I didn't have time anymore", I mumble.

"What? Nonsense, you do nothing except stay in your room doing homework, reading ,or talking to Sky", my mom says.

"Well, good morning to you too", I say while walking towards her and give her a hug from behind.

"Pshh, morning? It's almost noon", she says.

"Yeah, almost but isn't", I say while she rolls her eyes.

I grab a piece of bacon and take a seat at the table since the only seat by the kitchen island is next to Zak and I really don't feel like being that close to him right now.

The three adults notice the difference between Zak and I and share knowing glances between eachother. Do they know that we're not friends anymore? I didn't want to say anything to them since I knew it would break there hearts. But, did Zak say anything? He couldn't, could he? He can't be that cruel and insensitive, right? I really don't know what I would do or say if they found out.

"Hey, Alex. Why are you sitting so far away?",Anne asks.

"Erm ... there's no place", I say.

They look at each other with another knowing glance before turning to face Zak and I.

"But there is a seat right next to Zak", my mom says.

Crap! What do I do ...?

"Yeah, but I just ... Anyways, how is everyone?" I ask, trying to change the subject.

The three of them look at eachother once again before sighing and nodding. Wait, what? What is going on here?

"Zak, Alex. Did something happen between you two?" Mark asks.

Well Shit!
