"She never smiles..."
"Does she feel anything?"
"Why is her face like that?"
"She isn't normal..."
The group of children whispered to each other as they glanced at the girl who was sitting down. The girl's dull blue eyes stared at nothing and heard someone's footsteps
"Amaya...aren't you going to play with the other kids?" The nun spoke softly. Amaya lifted her head as stared at the nun and looked back at grass
"No thanks..." Amaya said
"Uhm...are you sure? Aren't you lonely?" The nun asked
"I enjoy it because it's quiet. I don't like it when there's loud noises...and...they are very loud" Amaya said and the nun sat down beside her
"...have they been bothering you again, Amaya?" The nun whispered softly and Amaya only fidgeted with her fingers
"It's fine. I don't pay too much attention to it anymore..." Amaya said and the nun wrapped an arm around her
"It's okay to come and talk to me if anything like that happens. I'm sure we can work something out for you so you'd be able to be friends with them. I want you to at least give it a try and get along with them by making the first move" The nun said
"...and if they ignore me?" Amaya asked
"I will have a serious conversation with them. I'll make sure that you're comfortable with the other kids" The nun said
"...I'll try" Amaya said and the nun patted her head softly
"Good. Oh and have you seen your sister around?" The nun said
"She's probably playing somewhere in the forest" Amaya said
"Did she run off again?" The nun asked
"I'll find her. She doesn't go that far..." Amaya said. She got up and walked away as she headed towards the forest to find the girl. Amaya looked around and heard a something nearby before finding the girl with light gray hair
"Vivienne" Amaya said and Vivienne turned around
"Ah hey Amaya" Vivienne whispered and looked back to where she was staring at
"What are you do-"
"Shhh..." Vivienne whispered and jumped forward before catching something
"I did it!" Vivienne said
"What is it?" Amaya asked
"Look what I caught" Vivienne said as she held the butterfly by it's wings
"Hm?" Amaya asked
"I need to feed my friend" Vivienne said walking away
"Friend?" Amaya asked and Vivienne approached the spiderweb nearby
"I met this cute fella when I went outside" Vivienne said placing the butterfly on the spiderweb and watched the spider rushed towards it
"Cool" Vivienne whispered
"...what have you been up to lately?" Amaya asked
"What are you talking about?" Vivienne asked staring at the spider
"If I remember correctly...you snuck out last night. In the morning there was news about one of the kids gone missing" Amaya said
"Do you think it was me?" Vivienne asked as she looked at her with a smile
"I know it was" Amaya said
"What about it? It's not like they'll know who did it. Want to see the body?" Vivienne asked
"No thanks. I suggest you quit doing stuff like that..." Amaya said
"Stuff like that? Protecting you from those bullies?" Vivienne asked
"What if you get caught?" Amaya asked
"Pfft! As if they could do anything to stop me. We aren't normal, Amaya. I don't get why you're trying so hard to live a quiet life. We will never fit in with the other kids. Why are we staying in this place where we always get annoyed and bothered by shitty people like them? We managed to escape from them and surprisingly lived. We wanted to leave that place so we could do what we want. Don't tell me you've gotten attached to that lady? Do you think of her as your mom or something?" Vivienne asked
"...of course not. Why would I?" Amaya asked
"Then how come you're holding back? Your eyes are telling me that you want to get rid of them. We should do it. I bet it'd be fun..." Vivienne said
"...enough" Amaya said as she flicked her forehead
"Mm...you're no fun" Vivienne pouted. The sky started to get dark as the clouds began to cover up the sun. The adults immediately called the children to come inside because of the weather
"Seems like it's going to rain soon. Come...we should head inside" Amaya said
"Eh? But I want to play with my new friend" Vivienne said and Amaya grabbed her
"You're going to get sick" Amaya said
"Fine" Vivienne mumbled as she walked away. Amaya followed her but stopped seeing a distorted shadow figure nearby and continued walking as she tried to ignore it. Suddenly she felt a pair of hands grabbing onto her shoulders. She tensed up feeling their presence nearby
"...why not let us have fun?"
"You can't keep us here forever..."
"...accept us all..."
"Amaya...let's become one..."
THROB!
"Quiet..." Amaya mumbled softly and rubbed her head
"Amaya! Come inside!" The woman called and Amaya rushed inside the place. She felt the other kids looks once she entered the place and walked away ignoring them
"Ah hey Amaya" A boy said as he approached her
"...hey" Amaya said and noticed the dirty looks from one of the girls
...I should leave
"Uhm I wanted to talk to-"
"Sorry...I'm not feeling well" Amaya said as she walked away and headed towards the rooms. She found her sister playing around and looked up at her
"Is it happening again?" Vivienne asked noticing something was wrong and Amaya went to the bed before falling on it
"...stupid headache..." Amaya mumbled and Vivienne hopped on her bed
"Do you need medicine?" Vivienne asked as she touched her head and Amaya closed her eyes. Vivienne played with her sister's hair and gently caressed it
"Did you pass out again?" Vivienne asked and Amaya was sleeping. Vivienne sighed as she helped her sister get comfortable in bed and covered her up with a blanket. Suddenly she sensed a shadow surrounding Amaya and a pair of glowing eyes appeared
"Hey...don't go so hard on her, okay? Amaya has a weak body" Vivienne said and touched Amaya's cheek
...come on Amaya. Be that monstrous demon again...
