Slowly they spent time building a nice little homestead, it was primitive but it kept the wild weather at bay. Apollyon and Katya sat on some logs in front of the bonfire eating some assortment of meats.
"So what's your story, I feel like I hardly know anything about you" Katya said playing with her food.
"I am a demon, there is not there" Apollyon said with a shrug of his shoulders.
"What do you mean? What were you doing before you met me?" She asked asked.
"Well before I met you I was just wondering around" Katya sighed, "and before that? Where did you come from where is your home?" She pushed trying to get any sort of information out of him but it was like pulling teeth.
"I.." Apollyon sighed, "used to live in the volcano, a slave to a very powerful demon who casted me out for disobeying an order, are you happy now?" Apollyon asked with an annoyed look on his face. He hoped this would satisfy her but it just left her with more questions.
"You were a slave? What wouldn't you do that made you get cast away?" Apollyon looked at her, the annoyance growing by the second.
"He ordered me to kill my sister and I refused"
"Why did he want your sister dead? Where is she now?" Katya asked getting more and more intrigued by the second.
"Enough of this!" Apollyon yelled as he pushed himself off the ground and started walking away. This was the first time she had ever heard him yell and it would be a lie to say it didn't scare her a little. She knew she had pushed him to far and instead of going after him she decided to wait for him. 'He needs to cool down' she thought as she brought her knees to her chest and looked into the fire. Apollyon had been extremely kind to her and she had pushed him when she knew she shouldn't but she couldn't help it. Everyday she spent with him her curiosity grew, he was the first demon he had ever met and he seemed pretty human to her. She sighed and looked in the direction that Apollyon had left, hoping he would return soon.

Apollyon had stormed off in a rage, when he knew he was far enough away he stopped. Grunting in pain as two holes ripped open in his back and pitch black wings grew out of them. Breathing heavy the skin on his forehead ripped open releasing his horns, small droplets of blood slowly dripped from his forehead. He didn't mean to storm off but his anger took control and he didn't want to shift into his demon form in front of Katya and have the chance of possibly scaring her to the point she would never want to be in his presence again. His skin slowly started to burn away exposing his true black skin, red veins running down his arms and legs. When everything was finally done Apollyon stretched and shook his wings out, it had been a while since he had gone out flying and since he was already in this form he took the opportunity to spread his wings and soar through the sky.

Katya lay on the ground in front of the fire, she could have gone inside the little shack and slept in a bed but she wanted to stay up and wait for Apollyon. As the sun set and darkness took hold of the area Katya stayed by the fire waiting for him but sleep soon took over her and next thing she knew she was passed out in front of a slowly dying fire.

Apollyon had been gone well into the early hours of the morning. He flew back to camp and landed on the soft grass in the middle of it, dew had already formed on the ground. Apollyon took a few steps before he saw Katya's sleeping body shivering on the ground in front of the fire put. He sighed, knowing full well she tried to wait up for him. Gently he scooped her up in her arms, his skin slowly changing back to it's human form though his wings and horns were still there. Katya slowly opened her eyes sleepily, "Apollyon?" She asked in a drowsy voice. "Shh.. it's okay go to sleep" he whispered to her softly and watched as she closed her eyes again, hoping she wouldn't remember seeing him like this. He placed her on the cot and put a few blankets over her to try warm her up after spending most of the night in the cold. Pulling a chair close to the cot he took a seat and waited for her to stop shivering, once she did he could finally relax. 'I really need to control my anger' he thinks as he watches over her sleeping form.
