all they had been doing for the past year was run.
running was the only thing that ostana and alex moon had been able to do since she'd first been found and hunted. running was the only thing that kept them safe from the creature hunting them, just because they were their own sort of creature.
vampires didn't take kindly to beings that threatened them. even if it was unintentional, they saw it as the perfect reason to bring an almighty species of werewolves to the brink of extinction.
the circumstances that brought the two together were certainly less than ideal. but fate was a tricky thing, and alex didn't like to dwell much on what he could've done to prevent the horrible things that happened the night he and ostana met. it was too painful, but he also knew that dwelling on what he could've done then wouldn't change anything, and it wouldn't bring back what he'd lost.
ostana regrets a lot of things about the night she met alex. but, she would rather die than allow her past mistakes to ruin what's left of his life, and so, she had no choice but to bring him into her mess. the accidents of the past brought them together, and though they both wish they could go back in time to fix some things, neither regrets meeting each other.
but running can get tiring after awhile. and so, they decide to settle down for some time, wanting to not have to worry too much, especially after getting help from other members of the supernatural community.
they didn't think that chaos would somehow follow them to a small town where nothing truly ever happened - at least, on the surface.
