the beast didn't like change.
but despite that, it did like the new environment it found itself in. it was dark, there were lots of trees, and plenty of things to hunt.
plus, new scents everywhere.
like always, it split from the she-beast quickly, the two of them used to their routine. they would wander, hunt, do as they pleased, then find somewhere to change back until next moon.
the beast didn't like being locked up, but knew that the other half had a life outside the moon and the change. it didn't know what the other half did, but it knew that the other half felt unsafe.
felt scared.
and the other half didn't have to worry about that during the moon. the moon took it all away, and left everything to the beast.
the creatures in the forest avoided the beast, but that didn't stop its' hunt.
it didn't stop the blood that would soak the mossy floor in random locations.
the beast came upon a new scent, and growled as its' nose crinkled. it didn't like the new scent, it wasn't familiar. it wasn't prey, it wasn't beast, or monster, or man.
it was strange, and the beast didn't like it.
the beast followed the scent, sniffing the ground, the air, the trees. it drew it in, and no thought was exhibited as it went to find the source.
soon enough, it did.
the source was a creature, but unlike the ones that hid from the beast. it was tall, and looked like the beast, but walked different. it was turned away from the beast, not having picked up its' scent just yet, and the beast observed the creature.
it was another beast, but not like it. not a monster, like the creatures with red eyes.
the beast huffs in confusion, and the creature snaps its' head around, eyes widening at the sight of the beast. its' hackles raise and a growl erupts from its' chest, until their eyes lock.
a hum leaves the beast, and it suddenly knows who this creature is.
'เนื้อคู่' it thinks, calling out with its' mind to the creature of beauty in front of it. the creature continues to stare, mouth near hanging open in shock, and flinches when the beast begins to approach. it moves slowly, not wanting to scare the creature, and sniffs the creatures' neck once coming to a stop in front of it.
the creature watches every movement, not knowing what to do, and shivering when the breath of the beast hits its' neck. pulling away slowly, it looks upon the beast and tilts its' head to the side, wondering.
the tranquility was broken as a howl cut through the air, and the beast growls at the sound of it. it bares the sharp claws on either foreleg, eyes searching for the source of the unfamiliar howl, not looking at the creature.
but seeing the way the creature did not become defensive, in fact it relaxed more, the beast became confused.
maybe the creature had a pack. the beast did not have a pack; it only had the she-beast, and the other half.
looking up, the beast could no longer see the moon. it was growing lighter, and the beast knew it couldn't change back here. the creature may be the เนื้อคู่ , but that didn't mean the other half would understand. the other half could be in danger.
so the beast turned and left. it didn't want to leave the creature, but it had to protect the other half.
maybe it would see the creature next moon.
