Today Wen Chao had gathered everyone to head to a hunt. Everyone complained. Hua Cheng who was watching the Wen's every move, informed Yinyu to pay closer attention to Wei Wuxian today than ever. As such Yinyu had been observing him the entire time. They took a quick break to rest after Wei Wuxian asked for one. He went to Lan Wangji and asked him, that he could carry him due to his injured leg. Which he he groaned and denied.

"Oh come on Lan Zhan you can-"

"Young master Wen we found it!"

Wen Chao smiled as he told his servant to take them there. As such the entire group made their way towards a cave, it was dark and nothing could be seen from the top.

"Someone get down there and check it out." Wen Chao  sneered.

Seeing as to no one was moving he decided to act, and the victim of his was none other than Wei Wuxian. He was the closest and well Wen Chao hated him so of course it would've been him. As such he pushed him harshly and as he fell, Yinyu went after him. Quickly he used his body as a shield to protect him as they both fell to the bottom. And although being immortal it did hurt and he did get injured but he was just glad that his nephew had not been injured. On the other hand Wei Wuxian was panicking and apologizing to Yinyu in a soft voice.

He was going to reply but then a voice interrupted him.

"Hey! Are you still alive!"

They didn't respond.

"Quickly go down and check before I push another one!"

"There is nothing here, why don't you come down." The voice seemed normal but there was a clear hint of anger concealed within it.

Upon hearing that voice they made their way down carefully. It was dark, not much light was present except for that of the torches. There was a huge pool of water or what seemed to be a lake if you were to see it from their perspective. The pool was black, possibly due to the insufficient lighting. As they waited nothing happened. While they waited Wei Wuxian was bandaging his uncle. Lan Wangji silently stared at them with slight concern in his eyes. After much impatience from Wen Chao he finally thought of something.

"Find somebody, hang them up, and let someone bled to draw it out!"

At that everyone was silent before an annoying voice was heard, "what about her."

The voice came from none other than Wang Lingjie. The woman she pointed to was Mianmian.

Wen Chao didn't like the idea, after all he found her pretty, he was hesitant to it. So he asked Wang Lingjie if it should be her. She said yes, then telling him if he was hesitant because he would miss her. Wen Chao said no, as such he gave in. Mianmian hid behind Jin Zixuan and Lan Wangji. All eyes were on both of them.

"Move aside!"

Lan Wangji didn't move an inch in fact he was indifferent to it.

Wen Chao new the situation was not to his benefit so he said, "Why are you standing there? You can't understand human speech? Or do you want to save the damsel in distress?"

Jin Zixuan spoke up.

"Is that enough? It wasn't enough for people to be flesh shields for you, and now you want live humans to bleed for you to use as bait?!"

Wei Wuxian was surprised I mean come on, how would he know that the peacock would do that!!

Wen Chao was enraged. How dare they speak back to him.

"Are you rebelling against me! Do you want your clan to end up exactly how the Gusu Lan clan did!"

Both didn't move an inch. This pissed off Wen Chao even more. However a disciple from the Gusu Lan clan shakily moved to pull her. Lan Wangji's eye brows furrowed as he pushed the disciple to the side with eyes that said he was ashamed.

Wei Wuxian thought 'This won't end good'

Jiang Cheng too clenched his fist.

The air was tense and suffocating. Wen Chao spoke, "How dare you! Kill them!"

As such disciples of the Wen clan unsheathed their sword and attacked Lan WangJi and Jin Zixuan having the advantage since they had weapons. Everything really wasn't looking in their favor at least then, that was until Wen Chao also just had to speak.

"Talking back to me, how outrageous. Indeed people like you should die."

"Right! All people who oppress others and do evil relying on the power of their clan should be killed. Not only that, they should be beheaded for tens of thousands to revile so that those to come would beware." A voice spoke from behind.

Wen Chao turned his head saying, "What did you say!"

Jiang Cheng looked at Wei Wuxian with eyes wide. Yinyu looked at him with eyes that said, "What are you doing."

"Do you need me to repeat it? Sure. All those who oppress others and do evil relying on the power of their clan should be killed. Not only that, they should be beheaded for tens of thousands to revile so that those to come would beware. You heard it this time?"

Wen Chao angrily said, "How dare you say such absurd, outrageous, and pretentious words!"

"Absurd? Outrageous? Don't you know who said those words!? Well it was the most, most, most famous cultivator of your sect, the one who founded the entire thing, Wen Mao! You could say such words! Hahaha! How amusing...Right! Isn't there something that said those who insult famous cultivators of the Wen Sect should be punished by...I remember that it was execution, right? Yes, very well, you can go die now."

Anger consumed Wen Chao and before Wen ZhuLiu could react, Wen Chao had already lunged towards Wei Wuxian and out of his protection. Wei Wuxian smirked having him right where he wanted him to be. This would have been something that Hua Cheng would've loved to celebrate, if it weren't for the current situation his son was in.

'Yinyu. Don't let anything happen to him.'

'Of course your highness.'
