The night temperature was neither too hot, nor too cold. The two of you walked in silence for a long while as the moon kept your path well lit. The more you walked, the more questions popped up into your head.

"That Gnosis.." wondering out loud, Scaramouche perked up at the sound of your voice.
"What about it?"
"Can you take it out?"
"I will not. Don't ask again." The Balladeer replied briskly. What previously had been a comfortable silence turned more awkward. The sound of footsteps shuffling over dirt and grass became unbearable eventually. So, you tried something else.

"Do you ever sleep? Or do you just.. close your eyes?"
The sound of footsteps stopped. You turned to see Scaramouche plant his hands onto his waist as he stared at you.
"Is the latter not sleeping, then?"
"You know what I meant, Milord."
The corners of Scaramouche's lips turned up in a small smile.
"I do. And to answer you, I do sleep. Often soundly, in fact." You recalled the first few nights in the cave. After Scaramouche had taken the Gnosis and turned it into an artificial heart of the sorts, he had spent a few nights turning and tossing in his sleep. Often crying out and then briefly waking up. It only stopped after the two of you began to sleep next to eachother.

"Because of me." You teased your Boss, whom huffed in reply and began to walk again. He didn't deny it. With the mood lifted up, you could walk with no worries.

The night passed quietly as the two of you came closer to Inazuma City. You eventually stepped foot inside. It was quiet inside of the City. Few citizen were awake, though none paid attention to either of you as you walked through the streets.
"Surely we can check into an inn tonight, yes?" You asked. A proper, comfortable and soft bed was exactly what your tired body needed.
Scaramouche didn't respond for a moment. He then slowly nodded, as if he hesitated.

"Let's find one now. I know you'd keel over in the morning if I keep you awake all night." The comment was stated so 'matter of fact, you couldn't even consider it as an insult. Besides, he was right. You had been walking for near the entire night. Usually you made sure to get enough hours of sleep, so work wouldn't be as draining as it could've been.

With a quiet nod, the both of you walk over to the nearest inn. A lady at the counter looks up, surprised to see new faces at this time of the night.
The room wasn't all that spacious, and didn't look luxurious either. It would do for tonight, though.
"Good evening. Two seperate rooms for one, please." You ask. The lady frowned, and opened her mouth to say something. The Harbinger cut her off immediately.
"One. One room for two people."

"Sure. We can do that. We only have a room open with two beds, however."
You glance over at Scaramouche, and notice his face scrunch up slightly in annoyance.
"That will be just fine. Thank you." You quickly pick up the conversation. You pay the price she demands, and the two of you head towards the stairs, up to your room. The stairs lead to a hall with doors on every side.

Various different snores are heard through the dark, small hall.
"Jesus fuck, out of all the buildings, we found such a shitty one." Scaramouche muttered under his breath. The two of you reach the room that had gotten assigned to your name. As you pushed the key through the lock, the door opened slowly. It creaked so loud, it felt like you were going to wake up the whole inn.
"I'll do it." Scaramouche suddenly snapped, and near kicked in the door all of a sudden. It opened fully, but the noise made you flinch.

"T-Thanks." You reply. Sarcasm dripped down your voice like honey. The inside of the room wasn't anything spectacular. It smelled dusty, but it didn't look too bad.
"You can go take a bath first, Milord. I'll wait.." You suggest, yawning.
"Mhm. If I come back and you're asleep, you're done for." This threat didn't have the usual poison that the Harbinger laced his voice with. You nod, knowing fully well you just wanted to sleep as soon as possible. Scaramouche walked towards the bathroom as you flopped onto the bed. You didn't bother taking anything off, apart from your shoes. Nor had you cared to pull the blanket over yourself. A shower would come tomorrow morning.
You were out like a light immediately.
