A tight sensation woke you up. You'd been asleep in that makeshift bed for a while. That tight sensation was..
A pair of arms were wrapped around your back. Even more, a whole body was pushed against you. Legs were wrapped around yours, cradling you.
You stayed still until the Balladeer woke up not soon after. When his iron grip on you loosened, you turned around. He was already awake. Though sleep dazed, he murmured a 'goodmorning' to you. His hand absentmindedly brushed against your cheek. A warm sensation spread across your face as you let it happen, dreading the moment he would retract it.
"Goodmorning." You whispered back. Scaramouche's thumb caressed over your cheek gently. He let go, and put his hand on the back of your head. Pulling you in closer. You felt his head rest on top of yours as your face was buried against his neck.
"Let's stay like this forever."
"How are we going to eat?" You mused.
"We'll think of something." Scaramouche sounded serious.
"I can't use the toilet if I stay like this forever." You replied again.
A small grunt followed from your Boss, and he let go. "Fine." All of a sudden he sounded more awake. You stood up from the bed. Morning light shone onto the ground as you stretched.
"It's time we get out of this dusty hole." Scaramouche noted. His gaze hadn't left you yet. When you returned it, he looked away."Where are we going?" Your question was understandable. It still resulted in a scoff, however. "I need to get to a warehouse. It's near the Tenryou commission headquarters. I think. You're coming along."
"Naturally." You replied. "What does Milord need on that island?" He shrugged.
"I'll let you know if I feel like you should know." The fire that'd kept the both of you warm for the past few days was long burnt out. With the little possessions you and your Boss had, it didn't take a long time to gather it all and pack it up into your bags. Well, it'd be faster if Scaramouche had helped. He sat down, and watched as you cleaned everything up. All he did was find his hat and put it back on."We'll walk. We need different clothes." Scaramouche said. He was right. If anyone saw either of you, you'd be in deep shit.
Where do you buy new clothes without someone seeing you, though? You shook your head. You'd figure it out later. You helped Scaramouche climb up the cave, and he pulled you up in return. You looked at a beautiful sight onto the sea.
You only stopped once you felt a tug on your sleeve. Jingles were heard as Scaramouche jerked his head. "Come closer."Scaramouche gave you a crumpled map from his pocket, and traced with his finger.
"We're here. We'll take this path towards Inazuma City." He spoke. Towards Konda Village and through Byakko Plains.
"Yes, Milord."And off you went. Reaching Konda Village took a day and a half, but it was a peaceful trip anyway.
"Were'd you get the map from?" You asked as you pulled the paper out again, seeing as you saw the village buildings pop up.
"There was a settlement somewhere while I was on my way to Narukami." Scaramouche replied. You didn't think anyone would willingly give a fatui anything, let alone a map. You didn't ask more questions, though. The village looked peaceful, and as you approached it, it became clear that most of its residents were elderly and children.
"You won't suggest we assault any of these people, will you?" you asked quietly, frowning. Fighting was one thing, but to fight people whom were already so old or young was..."Of course not, you idiot." Scaramouche snapped. He pointed at a drying clothing line in one of the backyards. It was on the outer side of the village. No one would see you.
"They won't miss two pairs of shirts and pants." He said.
"It's for the greater good."
