Chapter 14: First Morning

"I wonder if our letters reached Hage already, Asta?" It was early in the morning, I woke Asta to go down and eat together but he had other plans.

"ASTA DON'T FALL ASLEEP ON THE TABLE OR WHEN I'M TALKING TO YOU" I slammed my palm on the table and Asta jolted awake,

"I'm awake!" Although he said that he fell off his seat and knocked himself back into slumber, I sighed

"Sorry, I woke you up so early you can go back to your room to sleep some more." When Asta heard that, I don't know how he dashed faster than a boar to his room. I sat back down and continued to eat my food.

Y/N POV

I just finished my tour of the Black Bulls' HQ with Vanessa and was hanging out with Carmen in the main room

"Hey did the HQ seem different from yesterday?" I asked Carmen

"Yeah, I felt it too. Cause yesterday my room was beside a window, but this morning it's gone." Carmen explained I was about to say more we suddenly heard shouting from the hallway towards the sleeping quarters, as expected Asta came dashing out with Magna

"The Great Magna!" Asta shouted,

"Gosh (Y/n), how did you live with this gigantic ball of energy for your whole life?" Carmen laughed, and I sighed

"You, get used to it once you turn 7." She giggled and held my hand,

"Come on, let's pick up Karma then head to Magna." I stood up and walked to the sleeping quarters with Carmen, but just before we could leave the main room Karma came in with Lazeran trailing behind,

"Oh Good morning Carmen and (Y/n), I just came here after the tour with Finral. Where are you going?" Karma asked

"We were going to find you and head to Asta immediately, but now that you're here let's just talk for a bit." Carmen let go of my hand and headed to the curved couch, Karma, Lazeran, and I followed her. As we sat down and Lazeran settled his head on Karma's lap, then Carmen asked me

"How do you know where to find Asta (Y/n)? Cause every time Asta disappears on us you seem to find him magically." I laughed and replied

"Oh that, I always leave one of my wind fairies with him so he won't get into trouble. It's funny how it came to be like that," I explained popping one candy into my mouth.

"Do tell (Y/n), I'm interested," Karma said grooming Lazeran. I fixed my position and began to tell the story,

*~*Backstory Time*~*

The birds sang their tunes while the children played under the cool shade of the large willow tree in the forest, I delightedly ran around the willow tree attempting to lose the other village kids in a game of freeze tag. I found a rock and had a fun idea, I stepped on the rock and launched myself upwards grabbing onto one of the willow tree's branches and lifting both my legs making the tagger trip over the rock I jumped off. As the tagger fell flat on their face I pulled myself up onto the branch and laughed, the tagger was none other than Asta who quickly lifted his head to look at me while rubbing his nose.

"Hey! That's cheating (Y/n)! There was no rock here before!" Asta pointed accusing me, I stuck out my tongue and made a funny face.

"It was always there dummy, you even sat on it a couple of times!" I retorted, stabilising myself on the branch and grabbing hold of the other one above me. Asta crossed his arms and pouted while the other kids laughed

"Come on Asta, if you catch somebody within the next 3 minutes you have to buy everyone candy." One of the kids exclaimed backing away from him,

"Arghhh! I give up, but I have an idea! If you can find me before the sun hides behind the skull I'll buy double the candy for everyone! And it's all of you versus me." Asta stood up proudly and puffed up his chest, a grin was slowly forming on my face until Asta continued

"No help from any creatures allowed, especially you (Y/n) and your mom's fairies," Asta smudged and I 'tched' at him pulling my hand away from my bracelet.

"Fine, I'll find you before you can say 'I'll become the Magic Emperor'" The children started giggling and Asta's face flushed red with embarrassment

"Alright then! Count to 50 and then you can start searching for me." Asta started slowly walking away from us towards the forest. I rolled my eyes and started counting with the others while facing the willow tree,

"Remember! Don't go too far! Or else Father will get mad!" I shouted at him before he disappeared into the shade of the forest.

"I won't!" Asta shouted back with his stupid grin plastered on his face. I shook my head with a smile on my face and continued counting.

".., 49, 50! Ready or not here we come Asta! Kimmy! You and 2 others head South, Jet you head East with Cale and the rest of you are with me. And remember..." 

"Don't Cross the Nightingale Border, for if you do, Her Protection is Worthless to you." All the kids said in unison,

"Okay we all  know it, but in case we find Asta or don't take one of these Air Faes." I gave one fae each to Kimmy and Jet,

"Wait but didn't Asta say not to use your fairies?" I look at Kimmy with a lopsided smile on my face.

"Yes! But~ he didn't say we couldn't use them to communicate~" Kimmy's eyes went wide but in the end she laughed and chuckled

"Are you sure you're the daughter of a Forest Magician? You are more of a sly Fox's daughter." Everyone laughed including me,

"HAHAHAHA, then would you believe that I'm like this because my mom had shape-shift magic?" Everyone looked at me then looked at each other then laughed harder, but not me.

"Wh-why are you all laughing?" I asked confusingly, surprised by their sudden outburst.

"Yea right, then what you're gonna tell us that your mom had ancient Elven magic? As if, Shape-shifting magic was lost to the Massacre of the Elf Tribe. Anyway, let's quickly find Asta so we can hear more of (y/n)'s 'Magic that my mom had', HAHAHA" As the rest started running I was left behind in disbelief.

They... don't believe me...

Tears pricked the corner of my eyes but I quickly wiped them away,

"Who cares about those bullies! I don't! I don't care if Asta didn't allow me to use fairies to find him, the rest are probably far in the forest so I can make my faes disappear and let them find their way out themselves!" And with that, I snapped my fingers and both my air faes appeared by my side.

"Go find Asta, we need to go home." The faes disappeared as soon as I finished my sentence

OMG I've been gone for too long I don't know what happened to me, anyway since I'm back hopefully I can finish this story faster.
