Aurora couldn't help but smile at her phone as she read the texts from her friends. She readjusted in her seat on her bed, moving to lie with her back against the blankets. She lifted her phone into the air, typing a response into the group chat. She was halfway through writing her message when the device erupted into a sudden chime. Startled, Aurora fumbled with her phone as it continued to ring, narrowly dropping it onto her face in the process.
Shooting up from the bed, Aurora regained her composure. She peered at her phone screen, recognizing the caller ID. She quickly accepted the call, pressing her phone to her ear.
"Hello?"
"Hey, kid! Just wanted to check on ya!" Ronin greeted cheerfully. "Echo's here too!!"
There was an audible shuffling from the other end of the line– Aurora assumed Ronin was placing his phone down as he switched it to speaker.
"Hello!" Echo chirped. "We wanted to see how you were doing!"
"I'm good," Aurora answered, falling back against her bedsheets with a huff. "A bit bored, though. My friends went back to school today."
"Oh? I'm sorry to hear that," Echo sympathized. "Are you staying home a bit longer?"
"At least until the end of the semester." Aurora answered. "I'm going to continue school from home."
"Are you still enrolled?" Ronin wondered, curious.
"Yeah, technically," Aurora thought back to her conversation with Lloyd's mom, who–along with Garmadon and Wu–had met with the school's principal to discuss the future of her schooling. "The school staff were understanding. They actually gave me all the materials I need to finish this semester, including everything I missed. Lloyd's mom said they're gonna allow me to work at my own pace, so long as I can show my progress every week."
"That's wonderful!" Echo beamed.
"Well, you said you were bored, didn't ya?" Ronin teased. "Why don't you get started on your homework?"
