Isabel looked up towards the sky, watching as the dark red clouds moved across the open red space. She closed her eyes and dropped her head back onto her throne. Her captor was off dealing with some unruly damned that was putting up more of a fight than they usually did. She idly wondered what he'd do to the poor soul to make them cooperate. She opened her eyes and put her hand up, summoning some of the clouds down to her.
Once the clouds were just above her, she looked into the dark mass. She reached up and touched it, feeling a cool sensation prick at her fingertips. The bottom of the cloud turned into smooth obsidian, the glassy surface showing her reflection clearly. But that wasn't what she wanted to see. She concentrated, and the image in the glass began to distort and swirl until the image finally settled.
And there, in the glass, was the image of her teammates. They were at a party of some sort. She wondered what the party was for. She didn't know what time of year it was for them. It was hard to keep track of time when she didn't have a watch and every day looked the same. She watched as all of her teammates were having fun with each other.
She smiled wanly. She should be there, living it up with her team. But she wasn't. She was in hell instead. Her lower lip began to tremble, and as tears began to roll down her cheeks, the image in the cloud began to distort. Finally, the glassy bottom shattered completely and was replaced with a rolling stormcloud. As the tears continued to fall, thunder rumbled inside of the cloud, and rain began to downpour on her.
As the rain completely soaked her, Isabel watched as lightning illuminated the cloud. It had been so long since she had felt rain, she almost couldn't contain her laughter. It reminded her of home. And besides, she should be happy that her friends were still able to have fun and laugh. Her abduction hadn't forced them to stay in one place forever.
It was a bittersweet moment for her. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, and that was when the thunder stopped. She looked up at the cloud and saw that no lightning was illuminating its core. She smiled and closed her eyes again. The air around her grew colder, and she felt something soft and cold land on her nose. She opened up and saw the cloud was no longer dropping rain on her. Instead, she saw something white gently falling on her.
Snow. It was snowing.
She stuck her hands out, feeling the snow on her fingertips. She hadn't felt snow in a long time, not since she was a small child. She started to laugh as the snow began to cover her. She'd made it snow. She'd actually made it cold enough to snow. She looked back up at the cloud, a smirk on her face. She had enough power to make it snow. Soon enough, she'd have enough power to break out for good.

Akilah looked herself over in the mirror, watching as the dress she wore hugged her body in all the right ways. She had been unsure if the dress would fit her when she had ordered it online, despite the fit check having asked all sorts of questions about her body type to get the best fit. But when it had arrived and fit exactly how she had wanted it to, she was ecstatic. Sure, she had plenty of dresses that she could have worn to the party, but she wanted something new. Something sexy.
The deep purple satin shone softly in the poor light of the bathroom, and Akilah wondered how it would look when she stepped into proper lighting. The dress itself had an hourglass shape, hugging her hips in a way that no other dress ever had, but was loose enough around her legs that there was no restriction of movement. The slit that reached her thigh didn't hurt, either. She ran her hands down her side, smiling at the way the bodice fit. The laces in the back were practically a miracle, allowing her to let out the dress at her bust and tighten it around her slender waist.
