Isabel flinched when she heard a voice whispering around her. It sounded like the Devil. It sounded like he was looking for her. She curled up into a ball, reminding herself that it was just a voice. It couldn't hurt her. Eventually, the voice subsided, and Isabel uncurled herself, settling back into the darkness.

Akilah walked the halls of the BAU, making her way to Garcia's office. She'd had a lot on her mind all night after Morgan had dropped her off at her apartment. He'd proposed to her. He'd actually proposed to her, and she had told him no. She wasn't ready, she knew she wasn't ready, and he'd accepted that. Or at least, he'd pretended to accept it. But what if he really wasn't okay? And was she a fool for saying no in the first place?

She knew Garcia might have some answers. And if she didn't, she'd at least be a good listener. She loved listening to any drama, especially when it involved her Chocolate Thunder. And besides, she needed the distraction. She had woken up that morning with a huge weight in her stomach, and she knew exactly why. While the night before had been Akilah and Morgan's anniversary, today was the anniversary of something darker, something more sinister.

When she reached Garcia's office, she knocked quickly, and Garcia's voice sounded from the other side, telling her to come in. She breezed through the door and Garcia turned from her computer, smiling up at her. She smiled back down at Garcia, taking the seat that had been pointed out to her.

"So, Red Fury, what can I do for you?" she asked, and Akilah sighed.

"Well, something happened last night, something I need to talk to someone about."

"Oh? Was it a good or bad something?" Garcia wondered, and Akilah tilted her head in thought.

"Well, I suppose that it was both. It was a good thing, but..."

"Hey, Garcia, do you have that police report I asked you to print out? I need it to finish... Am I interrupting something?" Garcia and Akilah both turned to see JJ stride into the room, looking down at a file. It was only when she looked up to see that they were already in conversation did she stop her rambling.

"Oh, hey, Jaje. Perfect timing. Why don't you sit and join us? Akilah's got a story to tell," Garcia invited, but JJ sighed.

"Oh, I don't know if I have time. I've got a lot of reports to finish up. You know they're not making it easy on me after my transfer," she answered, and Akilah and Garcia looked at each other as she looked back down at her file.

"So you don't want to hear about how Derek took me on a fancy date to celebrate our anniversary and popped an important question?" Akilah asked, and JJ looked up slowly from her file. Garcia, on the other hand, had her mouth open and looked as if she was about two seconds away from squealing.

"You know, I think I have a little time," JJ said, sinking into the other open chair in the room. As soon as she was safely seated, Garcia burst.

"Oh my God, did he propose? Is that what you're trying to tell us? Tell us everything, tell us everything!" she squealed, and Akilah laughed.

"Well, at first, I thought we were just celebrating our anniversary, you know? He'd wanted to take me to the restaurant we made it official in, but they were fully booked, so we went to a different one that was just as nice, if not better. But just as we were finishing dinner, he started talking about how much he loved me and how he was so glad we won our hearing," she started.
