Intelligence Office, 21st District Police Department, Chicago Illinois

Lauren a petit brunette walked up the gated stairs and into the bullpen with a coffee in one hand and her phone pressed to her ear in the other as she spoke to her older brother over the line. "Mom said you haven't been to visit in a few months," Spencer said through the line as Lauren walked over to her desk that was set up beside her partner Halstead; who she'd been partnered with since the day she arrived in intelligence 8 months ago.

"I haven't, I've been caught up in cases," she told him, "You drive past the street her facilities on every day to get home. Just stop by," Reid said as the brunette got quiet. She'd moved away from Vegas and her mom 8 months ago and she still hadn't told Spencer. She left the FBI field office in Vegas 3 months before that and took a detective job in the city for a few months before she took the detective job in Chicago.

Lauren knew her brother would have a million questions about why she left the FBI, why she became a detective and why she moved away from home. Lauren didn't want to answer his million questions about why she left. She just wanted to leave what happened in Vegas in Vegas as the old saying went. "When I get a chance I will," she replied as she took a seat at her desk. "Look I gotta go we got a case but I'll call you later," Lauren told him. "Okay, call me later?" Spencer asked her. "Yeah, I'll call you later," She said before she hung up setting the phone on the desk in front of her before she leaned back and took a sip of her coffee.

"Who was that?" Jay asked curiously from his desk next to her, "Michelle Obama, we're super close," Lauren replied sarcastically causing Antonio and Lindsay to laugh at her sarcasm as Voight walked into the bullpen and stuck a photo on the board of an older man and a young boy tied up with tape over their mouths dead in the back of a cargo van. "This is Mike Tyler and his son Stephen Tyler 5 years old, Patrol found the truck abandoned in the warehouse district by the pier," Voight said informing the team of the case. "Cause of death?" Dawson asked the sergeant. "Blunt force trauma and each victim had been shot with a revolver," Voight replied.

Lauren hung up the phone first as Spencer set his phone down on the desk, why has she been acting so weird lately? he wondered as he stared into space thinking over the million probabilities but he knew how stressful the job could be and Lauren was also working as an agent with the Las Vegas field office the last time he saw her but that was almost a year ago.

"What's on your mind boy wonder?" Morgan asked walking over to his desk. "My sister's been acting weird lately," he said as Morgan leaned on his desk looking toward the shaggy haired genius. "Weird how?" Morgan asked him. "She's been Distant, she hasn't visited our mom in months which isn't like her, she barely calls and when she does she doesn't talk for long," Reid replied. "Reid I've got 3 younger sisters, maybe she's seeing someone or she's busy with work she's still working with the Vegas Field office right?" Morgan asked him as Spencer nodded.

"Why don't you take a few days and go visit her and your mom?" Morgan suggested, Spencer went quiet looking at the lack of files on his desk. The doctor stood up taking Morgan's advice and walked over to the stairs walking up to Hotch's office.

Mr. Tyler's Residence, Chicago Illinois

Voight sent Jay and Lauren to look over their victim's house to look for any information or evidence. "So are you gonna tell me who you were really talking to this morning or you gonna keep dodging the subject?" Halstead asked her as he pulled his truck along the curb across from the Tyler residence and put the vehicle in park before shutting it off.

The brunette sent her partner a look as she got out of the truck without a word, "Look we've been working together long enough for us to be open with each other don't you think?" the detective asked her. Lauren looked at her partner as they walked up the path to the house noticing the front door open a crack.

"Jay look," Lauren said reaching for her gun as Jay did the same taking the lead walking over to the door slowly. The detectives paused as Jay counted to 3 silently before pulling the door open and they both started sweeping the house not finding anyone but the house was destroyed and there were signs of forced entry, a struggle, and even bloody hand prints on the walls. "What the Hell happened here?" Lauren said looking around as Jay called the crime scene unit and Lauren called Voight to update him on what they found before they continued looking through the home with gloves looking for anything that could help their case.

Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, Quantico Virginia

Spencer walked into the large building going through security and baggage check before he walked over to his flight gate heading home to Las Vegas. The BAU wasn't working on an active case at the moment and he decided to take Morgan's advice, maybe it was time he go visit his mom and sister.

Spencer sat in the waiting area waiting for the flight to start boarding and he thought about calling Lauren to let her know he was going to be stopping by but decided to just surprise her instead. "Flight 6423 to Las Vegas is now boarding," a voice called over the building intercoms. Spencer stood up took his go bag, and walked towards the boarding tunnel showing the flight attendant his passport and flight ticket before he boarded the flight and found his seat.

The flight didn't take long to board and take off down the runway into the sky for the next 5 hours or so before the aircraft would land in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Jay drove himself and Lauren back to the station after going over the house for any evidence taking photos as well as getting the blood found in the house to the lab to see if they could get an ID of who it belonged to. The drive was quiet, "I was talking to my brother earlier," Lauren said looking toward him. "I didn't know you have a brother," Jay said glancing at her as he stopped at a red light a few blocks from the district. Lauren nodded not sure of what to say, as Jay pulled his truck into the parking lot of the district.
