You ran into the subway station followed closely by Edmund, Lucy and Susan as you pushed through the crowds. When you saw the ruckus, there was Peter, standing against 3 other boys that were much larger than him.
Susan sighed next to you, "he's always getting into trouble."
You chuckled and Susan eyed you carefully, grabbing your arm, "don't."
You pulled free of her grasp and pushed into the center of the fray, "need a hand big brother?"
Peter laughed as he stood back up, blood dripping from his nose. One of the boys that hit him laughed, "need a girl to come save you?" he mocked.
You squared up to him, "I think someone is going to need to come save you," and before he could laugh again, you punched him square in the face, watching him tumble back with a hand on his nose.
The others joined in as you and Peter continued to fight them. It only took a few minutes for a security officer to break up the crowd, blowing his whistle loudly. "I've had quite enough of this," he shouted, "start acting your age!"
As the crowd dissipated, Susan, Edmund and Lucy walked up to you and Peter. You wiped some blood from your lip as Peter caught his breath. "Nice punch," Edmund said, nudging your shoulders.
"Is it really so hard to just walk away from a fight?" Susan said, rolling her eyes.
"I shouldn't have to," Peter said, "I am a King."
"Not here," Susan responded, "and you, what's your excuse?" she said, turning her scolding eyes to you.
You shrugged, "my brother was outnumbered, I wasn't just going to stand there."
Peter smiled, reaching his arm around to give you a side hug, "I have the best back up in the world."
Susan stomped her foot, "both of you need to stop acting like warriors, or kings, whatever, we need to accept that we live here now."
Lucy finally spoke up, "but I love Narnia, I want to go back."
You pushed Susan aside, wrapping Lucy in a hug, "we will get back there Lu, Narnia is our home."
Susan rolled her eyes and led you all into the terminal to await your train back to Cambridge. You all sat on a bench waiting for the train, Susan checked her watch, "is the train usually this late?"
Edmund checked his watch too, "not usually, it is quite behind."
You slouched back, "who cares, it's not like we have anything fun to do." Before anyone could respond, you all heard the screech of the train on the track, "see, Susan, here comes the precious train now."
Susan rolled her eyes and stood up, "something is wrong, it's moving too fast."
She had caught all of your attention as you all stood up next to her, looking down the track. She was right, the train was speeding faster than you had ever seen. You pulled Lucy back by the shoulders as the train got closer.
"What's going on?" Peter asked as the wind rushed in from nowhere.
Lucy smiled, "it feels like magic." The train went whizzing by, but the wind continued as the panels started to be stripped from the terminal. You caught glimpses all around you, blue water, white sands, bright sun.
A few moments later, the train and wind disappeared and the terminal walls were replaced by dark rock from a cave. You crept towards the end of the cave where you saw light shining and quickly stepped foot into paradise.
The sun shone brightly off the crystal clear waters and the sand was pristine and warm. You looked to Peter and the others with a smile, "we're home."
