Five

“Something’s wrong.” I said as I stood up from my seat and left my lunch of pizza.

I was having a lunch with no other than Liam. I explained to him about the Union’s rules and obligations if he wants to be part of it. He nodded at my every instructions and questions I asked to him. Liam seemed to get it all because he even pulled out a small notebook to jot down everything I said. A good student indeed, I might add.

But we heard a fight past the cafeteria which really distracted me. So I decided to see it for myself and do something about it. After all, I’m part of the Student Union so I have the right to do so.

“I’m coming with you.” Liam took hold of my hand when I was about to leave him. It felt so good when he did that I should say but I ignore that. “After all, I’ll see if I can do something about it. You know …train for the best.”

I smiled and I pulled him from his chair. “You’re right. Let’s go.”

He nodded then we stormed out of the cafeteria and headed fast in the Main Lobby because that’s where we heard the noises.

As we got closer, we found students hovering over two boys that are fighting each other and I definitely know the two of them. Then Liam and I stopped. I was much more frozen than Liam because of what I’m seeing and without second thoughts. I stared at them broadly.

“It’s―” I started to say then Liam abruptly said. “There is…your brother.”

                “Can’t believe he’s fighting with―”

“Yes…same here…can’t believe he’s fighting with another guy. I’ve heard that your brother don’t pick a fight but instead he’ll ignore it and let it pass. That’s what the rumors say.” Liam said and I slowly walked forward to their direction.

“It is true that’s why I’m shocked. This is the first time that I’ve seen him picking a fight especially with Aaron.

“Do you know why?” Liam asked me but I didn’t meet his eyes.

I said plainly. “I know exactly what’s going on.” Then I left Liam and listened to them.

“Stay away from my sister!” Martin said as he wiped his nose and it’s covered with blood. Disgusting I may say.

Then Aaron approached him and pointed his fingers at my brother. “I just want to talk to her. You can’t dictate what I feel!”

Martin tsked and said. “You’re completely wrong about that! Stella’s my responsibility. As far as I see it, you’re not better for her!”

“You can’t know about that Hamilton!” Aaron protested and he almost shouted at my brother. “You’re not even close with her.”

That’s when my brother snapped and without thinking, he grabbed Aaron’s shirt and slammed him on the wall. I haven’t noticed before, he did managed to slam him on the wall that hard. Then he raised him at the wall maybe a feet above the ground, punched him on the face that hard and muttered at him which I heard clearly. “You son of a―”

And that’s when I interfered. I can’t let that happen even I don’t want Aaron but still…I can’t. That has to be stopped.
