Two

I swear, even I trade my whole being to hell, hit myself with a car or drown myself into Pacific Ocean, that the guy I spotted with the handsome looks was leaning against the wall and not to mention he stared and smiled at me was there before I decided to return his smile.

Maybe I was slow but I decided fast enough to see his reaction.

But the truth is, even I don’t want to accept that truth at all, I saw nothing of his presence.

“Stella? Something’s wrong?” Cathy asked me. I practically had forgotten her, God!

I stared for one last time and shook my head. “No, I just thought I heard someone called my name. Must be the nerves I think?”

“Probably, but you shouldn’t get giddy like that. Besides this is just another school year but don’t worry, I’m here. Remember, focus, alright?”

I grinned and took her arm. “Yeah, focus. Let’s go.”

Andrew Westbrook seemed a different environment this year. Maybe because I’m seeing things differently right now as I promised myself to make a big difference. Step One is almost done, being a full-time good student at Andrew Westbrook. So I’m headed to Step Two which my current progress with it seems to fail right now particularly the incident a while ago.

I do hope I don’t see the guy ever again even I wanted to. Badly

Walking inside the boundaries of Andrew Westbrook feels like home. The trees, the Spanish style structure of the building which gives you the impression that feels like you’re living during the 1800s and the best of all (which I think is not best for me anymore) there are places known as ‘Secret Nooks’ where students take their partners to have a make-out session which I desperately should avoid this school year as my Step Three.

Get ready, I thought and I was actually surprised when I entered the double doors of the Main Lobby that they didn’t see my very presence. That’s not what I am expecting from them.

Some gossip I hear? Another student being banged up today or better say, is there a new student here?

I tried as much as possible to get passed the crowd but I was shoved away when I tried my hardest.

“Hey! That’s rude!” They’re almost whispering loudly and someone shouted.  “Everyone shut up!” I shouted and they definitely shut up.

“Let me in! What’s going on here and what’s the commotion this very first day?” I passed the crowd again and what I found out definitely startled me.

So this is the commotion all about, I thought and I tried to make progress with Step Two but I think life isn’t fair enough with me.

“Something’s wrong?” The guy asked everyone in the crowd. “I was surprised everyone kept their voices down when this girl―he intentionally pointed at me―shouted. Did I miss something?”

Everyone seems obliterated by him including myself but I shook my head. “No, you didn’t,” I replied him and turn to look at the crowd, “and all of you, go back to your rooms! On the count of three…” Before I count to three, everyone rushed back to their rooms and still I scared them after all this time.
