"Hi" I giggled to My mom and Susannah, as I sat down at the kitchen island
"Boys got you again?" She smiled
"Ya"
"Gracelyn, she's stunning" I heard Susannah whisper to my mother
"You have always been lovely but, oh honey look at you" she grabbed my arms and I gave her a toothy smile.
"I don't think I look much different"
"Oh, you do not look the same at all" the older woman hugged me "your growing up" "your in bloom"
Susannah had a way of saying things that almost made it impossible for me not to believe her.
"Gracelyn shes you all over"
"People always say I look like my dad" I say but slightly frown at the memory of him
"You have his eyes" my mom smiled, as she played with my blonde hair
"But when me and your mom first met she looked just like you"
"Except my boobs weren't even half the size of yours" my mother said pinching me
"Eww mom" I slapped my palm on my forehead as Susannah laughed

As I entered my room all the old memories from the past summers I spent in cousins came flooding back.
My room is a light pink color, that Susannah had painted when I was five years old after Hudson had colored all over the previously white walls ruining my new markers, I was devastated. So to cheer me up Susannah let me pick out the color of the new paint, and we spent the day painting together.
I have a few pictures hanging up on the side of my wall, a funny picture of me and Jere in the bath when we where toddlers, a picture of me and Belly when we were around seven at the beach, and lastly a selfie of me, Conrad, and Steven from last year.
On the left side of my bed is a nightstand a turtle stuff animal that Jeremiah had won for me out of a claw machine when I was 6, I remember how proud he was when he got it for me on the first try, and how he ran to the moms bragging. I just couldn't bring myself to toss it.
"I can't believe you still have that turtle" Jeremiah said flinging himself onto my bed
"Obviously how could I throw away tilly"
"Cannie how about we go for a swim before dinner"
"Jeremiah don't call me that"
"Please" the teenager ignored my request and batted his eyelashes at me instead "I've been wanting to go to the ocean all day, but I've been waiting for you"
"Alright fine, I need to change into my bathing suit first"
Jeremiah kept himself seated on my bed "Jere? That means you have to get out" I laugh motioning the boy out the door
"Oh right"
Once Jeremiah left my room I opened my bag up to look for a bathing suit to wear. I decided to go with the Pink bathing suit Noel insisted I pack.

"Hurry up!" The blonde boy said as I ran down the stairs
"I'm coming calm down"
"How's life been?" I started small talk unsure what else to say as we started walking
"You know" "How about you?"
"Oh wait Jere did you hear about my moms boyfriend coming down for the 4th?" I said
"No I didnt? How do you feel about that"
"I don't know I feel like it's kind of soon, dad passed a year ago and she's already found herself a boyfriend that she's comfortable enough to introduce us too" "Maybe I'm just being selfish though"
"I get what your saying, I love your mom but she can be a bit pushy sometimes." "I don't think your overreacting" he put his hand on my shoulder. My stumic started to twist at the sudden contact. What the fuck, he literally touched my shoulder what am I getting so flustered for?
"I've waiting all year for this" I said when we came to a stop
"Wanna race?"
"I can't, your legs are too long now" "It's not fair.." I distract the boy before quickly taking off with a head start
"You cheater!" Jeremiah said splashing me
"I did not!" I splash him back before he grabs me by the waist, pulling me under with him
"Jeremiah fisher you could have drowned me" I said when we came back up
"Oh your fine don't be so dramatic"
