"Do you hear this Canon" the girl looked towards me before going to her mothers aid "oh yea Taylor's dad was reading this guys book" "150,000 followers is a lot" "especially for a writer"
"Okay thanks" Laurel said before belly walked off
"Who are you texting" I asked leaning over my younger brothers shoulder to see him on a imessage game
"No one" "get out of my business" he groaned
"Is it a girl?" I perked up
"No" Hudson shoved my hand away as I reached for the phone
"Haleigh?" "Who's Haleigh?"
"Mom tell Canon to mind her business" Hudson moved away from me
"Canon honey give your brother some privacy"
"Where was that attitude when Hudson told practically my whole school that I liked Chase powers" I rolled my eyes
"Who's Chase Powers" Jeremiah walked into the room with a smirk
"Oh my god nobody" I laughed pulling my knees up to my chest
"No one I have to worry about right?" Jeremiah said playfully.
He didn't mean it. He was joking. I know that Jere is a flirty person but I can't help feeling knots twist in my stomach as he said that.
"Nah bro Chase is a twink, not to mention he spent the whole year on the benches. I didn't see him play in one game the whole season" Hudson laughed

I went downstairs to talk to the moms, and hopefully come up with an excuse to get out of the annual movie night, but from the looks of it Belly already beat me to it
"Everything okay"
"No, yeah its just. I'm kinda tired so I think I might just skip the movie and go to bed"
I felt my heart clentch as I saw Susannah's face drop into a slight frown. How am I supposed to tell her that I am also going to skip out on the movie aswell. The little things like this had always meant alot to Susannah, and now that we're getting older I can tell she is trying to make the most out of our time spent in cousins together.
"Hey, I think I'm going to skip out tonight too I'm really tired"
"Okay, hon yeah, sure." "We can uh.. we can do the brownies another night."
"Noel I'm freaking out I just bailed on the moms just so I can go to some stupid ass bonfire" I said to my best-friend on the other line of the phone
"Babes, don't feel bad. Your a teenager your aloud to have a bit of fun once in a while" Noel reassured me
"What the fuck was I think. I'm probably just going to stand alone looking like a loser."
"I mean I'm pretty sure Belly is going, but like if she wanted me to come with her I feel like she would have asked" I sighed leaning back onto my soft bed
"Canon chill out, its Belly she will keep you company, and didn't you say some cute boy invited you"
"Yeah"
"See you have nothing to worry about" The aburn haired girl shook her head
"What do I even wear? I don't want to look like a try hard, but I also want to look decent"
"Just wear your denim shorts and that white cami you got when we went to rue 21." "Wait and your pink converse, those are so cute"
"Alright" I pushed myself up off my bed
"I'm going to get ready than, I'll send you a pic when I'm done"
"Okay love you"
"Love you bye" I said before hanging up the phone

After a short walk my feet hit the sand of the beach, music was playing loudly and almost everyone I could see had a red solo cup in hand. For a moment I stood awkwardly. It was quite obvious I'm sure that this was not my normal scene.
"Canon?" I turned my head to a feminim voice, Belly. The girl was wearing a short pink dress, that didn't really look like Belly's style"
"Hi"
"What are you doing here?" Belly was cut off by a older looking boy "Gas station girl hey"
"You brought a friend?" he looked me up and down. I cringed.
"Belly who is this" I whispered to the girl but she shrugged me off, rolling her eyes
"Want a bear?"
"No I'm good" The teen shook her head
"What are you doing here" Steven seeming came out of know where
"And I'm sorry, what are you wearing?" he directed towards Belly who wrapped her arm around her chest.
"I invited her, who the fuck are you?" The older boy sneered at Steven causing me to back up a bit
"I'm her brother. Shes fifteen you pedo"
"Im almost sixteen" Belly attempted to defend herself, but didnt make her case any better.
"My bad"
"Jesus christ, you two come on" Steven grabbed both me and Bellys arms pulling us away.
"What are you doing?" Belly shook her head
"Will you let go of me please"
I shook my arm away as Belly started to pull from Stevens gripping
"You're embarrassing me"
"Why am I embarrassing?"
"Steven stop. Let you of her arm" I tired to pull Belly away but I just ended up making things worse and the girl tripped
"Steven what the fuck is wrong with you" I scowled at him
"I-I didnt mean" The brunette trailed off with regrettful eyes
"Belly?" Conrad looked down at belly and thats when I noticed the boy post mid-makeout with a unfamillar girl. Poor Belly, I know she has always liked Conrad. So I can't imagine how embarresed she must be right now.
"I thought you hated the red socks?"
"Who are you?" the unknown girl said with a bit of a attiude
"Who are you?" I replied back, defending Belly
"Nicole
"Canon?" I turned my body to a voice. I was met with the face of the boy I met at the gas station
"Tatum, hi"
"I was starting to think you wouldnt come"
