Before I new it my first full time pro season was a week away. Everyone at Star had been grinding almost every day to get ready for Fox Raceway. It was Thursday and we had to fly to California on Friday. I was in the gym for a couple hours that day, and I watched a lot of videos with my dad from that track. We got on the plane to go to Cali and I slept the entire way there. We landed around 4PM and we got a rental car. I drove us all to the hotel in our GMC Denali. I went to bed super early. I woke up and went for a 10 mile run. I got back and only laney, chase and my dad were up. Chase was editing a YouTube video, my dad was listening to a podcast and Laney was scrolling on Instagram. I showered real fast and I watched some footage. When everyone was up we went to the Star Yamaha trailer. We went by our bikes and talked with Duffe. We sat around for a while then we qualified. I ended up 10th. We lined up for the race and I had Hunter Lawrence on my left side and my teammate Levi Kitchen on my right. The gate dropped and I got a decent start. Came out of the corner in 8th. I took it slow the first few minutes of the moto and settled in and then I took off I was battling with Hunter Lawrence for 9th and laney was behind me in 10th. The moto finished and I was 9th. We went back and Duffe put my bike on the stand. I sat down while the Star people handed me towels and poured water on my back. My dad was talking to me when Brent came over. "Do you want me to change anything?" he asked me.
"No the bikes awesome dude." He nodded and went to clean the bike up. Daxton Bennick, who Star had signed a few months ago walked over and we talked for a while. When he walked away Laney walked. She leaned on my chair and rubbed my back. "Hey bud." I looked up and smiled at her, "What's up."
"You did good."
"You as well." I said. I cycled for a while then we went for the next moto. Laney was next to me on the gate. I reached over and gave her a fist bump. The gate dropped and I had a really good start. I came out of the corner second but a few guys passed me. I ended up 8th with Laney in 9th. I rode back to the Star trailer and set my bike on the stand. I took off my jersey and my roost deflector. Duffe walked over and dabbed me up, "Hell yeah dude, that was great!" I nodded as I took a swig of water. We hung out with everyone for a while and we went back to our RV. I layed down in my bed with Laney beside me. I played with her hair and we both went to sleep.
