The redhead places the blanket over me and Ella as I lean back a little. She sits up and asks me, "So, you have a kid?" She asks me. I nod and smile as I down at the dirty blonde child snuggled into my chest. The redhead places her hand on my knee, "How come you never told me?" She asks in a calm curious tone. I look back at her. "How my past was, is not one of my favourite stories." I tell her as I bring my knees up to my daughters back to protect her.

She nods, "I see..my apologies." She tells me, "You don't have to tell me." She let's me know. I smile and shake me head. "If we are gonna stay together, you must know the truth." I tell her. She nods and smiles a little.

I take a deep breath, "Four years ago, I was in a relationship, with a guy who wasn't the most polite." I tell her. She looks at me with sympathy in her eyes, "Oh god. I'm so sorry." She tells me. I shake my head, "No it's okay. Even though he was sweet to me. When he drank he came rather mean. He put me in hospital where I found out I was pregnant with Ella." I tell the woman infront of me.

She nods, listening to my story. I place my chin on the little girls head before kissing her. The sound of her snoring keeping me calm, comforting me. She stirs a little, moving into a more comfortable position. "When he found out about her, he told me to get rid of her or he would do it myself. I refused and he tried to attack me in hospital but was dragged away. The nurses and doctors gave me support and help. Helped me get a restraining order against him." I tell her.

She nods, knowing he can't come near me. Knowing I'm sage from him. But a look of guilt washes her face. "You put your life in danger to keep a roof over Ella's head?" She asks me. I nod, understanding I could leave her one day sooner than expected. "Y/n..please stay with me?" She asks me.

I look at her, taken back by her question. I shake my head, "I can't do that." I tell her. I shake my head. She sighs, "I saw the eviction letter on the side..please let us give your daughter a home where she will be safe and loved. The Avengers can be her family." She tells me.

"I'm sorry..but Tony wouldn't agree to that." I tell her. She leans over and pushes a piece of my hair behind my ear. "Yes he would. I know we have a spare room, Ella can have it, and you can stay with me." She tells me. I smile and sigh with relief. Feeling the tears dwell in my eyes I nod.

She smiles, "Come here." She tells me. I shuffle over careful to not wake the toddler in my arms. The redhead wraps her arms around me. She ushers me to stand as she takes Ella in her arms. "I can put her to bed." I tell her. She shakes her head and takes me to my room. "We can stay together tonight." She tells me as she puts the child in the middle of the bed and we settle on each side of her. I smile and put the lamp on a dim setting before curling a finger around Ella fingers and holding hands with Natasha.

"Thank you Natasha." I tell her. She smiles and squeezes my head a little.

We hear a small, "Nighty Night Mama.." from the little child between us before we fall asleep.
