" 瓜作る
君があれなと
夕涼み "
"Takata-san!"
My mind were lingering around as I gazed into the outside, the breezing wind blowing into the classroom and the sun shining all through the windows, the entrance gate to summer was about to open. Soon as a voice heard calling me out, the wandering imagination snapped out, taking me back to reality.
"Good grief, dazing off again? You're no cool, Takata-san." It was Motoki who was calling me.
"What do you want this time, Motoki...?" I, who was in a drowsy mood, questioning his call.
"Takata-san, don't you remember? Today's the day we get to know who's in the top!"
"Who's in the... what?"
"Come on!"
Before I could say anything more, Motoki already pulled me up and brought me somewhere. Downstairs were a crowd of people, looking at something important, to which I still haven't figured out what it is. And then...
"Aaaaaaaahhh!!!"
A screaming from one in the crowd, pointing at a name.
"Motoki, go find out what's going on."
He nodded, and went in to look what happened. Shortly after...
"Takata-san!!!"
He immediately grabbed me and pulled into the crowd, showing what they were actually after. Something beyond expectation, beyond what I expected and imagined. I wouldn't even believe myself.
My name was displayed in the first position of the mid-term exam results.
But... How?
Looking at the results, it seemed that I was the only one to beat all in 100, leaving everyone behind including the 2nd and 3rd students. How could this be possible?
I became a statue, not even moving an inch until...
"Takata-kun!"
"Takata-san!"
"Takata-senpai!"
I felt sudden urge, to run, to escape...
"D-Don't look at me! S-Stay away!"
I ran away from the crowd, as fast as I could. The crowd were seen chasing me after seeing the results, notably the girls. Why am I being chased? What's all this for?
Trying to escape from reality, I ran and hid far away from everyone, letting the crowd pass by me as they didn't see me in a spot.
"He must be there! Come back, Takata-kun!"
Minutes passed by, the surroundings seemed to be empty for now. I then, decided to run back to the classroom until...
"Ahhh!"
Is this some kind of déjà vu?
"S-Sorry, I didn't see you the-"
"N-No, it's..."
"Ayumi-chan?"
Oh great, I bumped into her once again...
"P-Please forgive me!" She tried hard to apologize.
"Ayumi-chan, I'm the one to apologize. I'm sorry."
I helped her out with her stuffs, picking them up as I prepared to leave as soon as possible. By the time I started rushing out...
