Bright hadn't spoken a single word to Win ever since the moment they sat on the bed with Bright hiding his face in Win's chest, sobbing dearly to the moment Bright had fallen asleep with tears smeared all over his face.
The day had been rough for both of them and they had been under so much pressure having to end up in the interrogation room of Intelligence.
Though Win pretended to be strong and brave, honestly said he was freaking out. His mind was frantic that they would spit something suspicious and they would end up in a hell. His mind had been all over the place, his brain had been ramming against his skull and his heart had been thudding against his chest every time a lie slipped out between his lips and Win had felt a huge pang of pain and relief rushing through his mind, the moment they came out intact from that room.
But everything for the day started even before that, when they took the decision to meet Mew in the abandoned warehouse and though they didn't really think of it, Win knew both of them had been stressed ever since then.
They were both dutiful, loyal to their departments and had pledged to their country wholeheartedly but what they were doing was out of their morals, ripping them off their sanity even themselves not knowing what was driving them.
Then it had been over for Win, the moment they stepped out of the interrogation room but it had not been for Bright. Win's mind had been begging for a break ever since then and he was sure Bright felt the same but instead what Bright got was a brawl with his father who was rather emotional over what happened and the day had ended with a slap across Bright's face from the person he loved the most in his life and had concluded with Bright ending up crying.
Bright cannot handle too much of emotional stress, this Win knew already but that is what Bright got the whole day so he couldn't blame the boy for having tears the moment the slap landed on his face. Bright loves the people around him too much for his own good so when he gets at least a little hurt by them, Bright ends up being ten folds hurt than it actually should have been. Win has seen that happening before and he had been the reason for it a several times too.
His heart ached for Bright as he briefly looked out of the little window where the skies were turning a light pink getting ready for the evening and then his eyes turned to Bright who had his head on his lap, his face welled up in pain.
His fingers fondled the hair of the boy under him softly with a little smile creeping on his face and it made Win chuckle when Bright whined in his sleep needily.
Cute.
Win thought to himself just when he heard a knock on the door and having a faint idea that it might be Thana because no one else actually comes up and not wanting wake Bright up, Win calmly and gently hoisted Bright's head from his lap and placed it on the bed before rolling the boy on the mattress so that Bright doesn't fall.
Bright is a very light sleeper, usually, but Win guessed he must be too tired to give any shit right now.
Then Win gently detached himself from the bed and walked towards the door and smiled at Thana who was standing in front of it patiently.
Win stepped aside in a silent gesture inviting her to come in and Thana did so, hearing the door clicking behind her after a second.
For the first time, she took a good look around the little room with a little smile on her face and then looked over her shoulder at Win who was behind her and smiled.
"Did you speak with Uncle? Is he calm now?"
Win asked in a soft tone making sure they did not disturb Bright's slumber and Thana hummed.
