Y/N's PoV
Ao Shin: Hey, Y/N.
I looked up from the holopad I was reading to see my familiar hovering in front of me.
Y/N: Yes, Ao Shin?
Ao Shin: I finished cleaning the workshop. I'll check what survived yesterday's explosion after I wake up tomorrow.
Y/N: Alright, good night.
My familiar hummed before zooming off to the bedroom. After he disappeared down the hallway, I let out a tired sigh as I recalled the events from yesterday.
Gods, I can't believe that girl is already causing me more headaches than Sera ever did in four months. I swear, she's going to be the death of me.
Thanks to a certain redhead, Ao Shin and I had been busy cleaning the palace workshop and salvaging whatever survived the blast for the past two days. Needless to say, she isn't allowed anywhere near the palace workshop or the garden workshed moving forward.
BUZZ!
Y/N: Huh?
Who could that be?
I glanced at my phone and saw a text notification from Syndra on the home screen.
Syndra: Hey, can we talk?
Talk? Well, I guess I have some time before I go to bed myself.
I quickly texted her back before waiting for her response.
I wonder what she wants to talk about.
BUZZ!
I looked at my phone and read Syndra's reply to my text.
Syndra: Meet me in the garden. I'll be waiting for you there.
The garden? Okay.
I set the holopad on the coffee table before hopping off the couch and walking to the door. Upon opening it, the cool evening breeze gently rushed past me and into the house while the chirps of the crickets filled my ears.
Ah, what a lovely night.
The air was cool and crisp, and Dalaria's twin moons shined brightly over the clear night sky. As I stepped out of my house, which previously belonged to the royal gardener, and closed the door behind me, I glanced at the twin moons before heading for the garden. Upon arriving, I found Syndra standing in the garden, dressed in her guardian uniform, with her back turned toward me while looking at the twin full moons.
Alright, let's see what she wants to talk about.
I slowly walked up to Syndra's side before greeting her.
Y/N: Hey.
Upon hearing my voice, Syndra glanced at me before softly smiling at me.
Syndra: Hey.
Y/N: So, what is it that you wanted to talk about? Seeing how you're in your guardian uniform, I'm guessing you're leaving soon, correct?
Syndra nodded as she smiled sadly.
Syndra: Yeah. She'll be arriving soon, and with all of us congregated here, it's like a beacon for her. I have to go before she catches up.
I hummed and nodded as we both stared up at the night sky.
Looks like I better start preparing for her arrival then, but I'll worry about that tomorrow. Still, I was hoping we could spend a bit more time together after so many years apart.
