hyacinth

you loved me in monotone

filled the cracks in my soul with your golden delight.

our words sharing a path of golden runes

ancient, old, but making a mark

I ingested you like air

 tasteless but keeping me there

the sun never shined the same when I saw your smile

Perfectly carved and delicately mine.

Like a hyacinth

euphoric taken in small amounts

poisonous if too much.

all so sweet until the yearning started

Your love suffocated me until

it was the only thing left in my lungs

Dragged my body limp and sore

until it is numb

Quiet sobs filled

the emptiness and cold winds of our home

What was so warm now frozen in winter

delicate kisses of forgiveness

misery sweetened by your whispers of love

that I know are lies

intoxicating myself to keep the love there

holding onto something dead

for my heart would be empty if I buried it

Dust washed over our corpse of serenity

the only thing I know now is your fake replicas of sincerity

opened mouth, breathy voice, nothing comes out

as if it's all just a tribute to our dead love
