"The lunar cycle is the recorded journey of the Moon around the Earth, consisting of a total of eight phases that occur over approximately one month. These phases are the new Moon, the waxing crescent, the first quarter, the waxing gibbous, the full Moon, the waning gibbous, the third quarter and the waning crescent. According to ancient mythology, the curse of lycanthropy would cause the inflicted to transform into a ravenous, animalistic monster upon the night of a full Moon; a creature driven by its intoxication of blood, addiction to fear, and the thrill of the hunt – whether they wanted to, or not."
