Jon Arryn was sitting at his desk thinking about how the fuck everything got out of control, 1 year had passed since his pupil became king, and the only thing it brought him was a big headache without a doubt.

He still wasn't over Lyanna Stark, and most of the time was spent drunk or in some brothel in the city, not giving a damn about what was happening to the kingdom as he just needed to satisfy his desire, which he was never going to be able to do since the one he loved wasn't with her.

Whatever he did with Robert did not work, in his mind, the only woman that existed was Lyanna Stark, with an absent king everything depended on his hand, and he did not mind the idea of commanding over anyone, because practically Robert gave him the power for that, but he had political enemies like the Lannisters mainly, since much of the political power belonged to that house, thanks to Cersei being the queen, but she did not make those people occupy such positions, no. The real armorer of this was Tywin Lannister the golden lion, who used his daughter as a pawn to corner him and take away his power, but that was not going to happen, he was not going to lose what in his mind he deserved.

Then there were the Northerners, they had completely lost control of the North, and the only ones who ruled that house were the Starks, practically all the northern houses followed the Starks, as always the only house that was against them were the Boltons, and their vassal house the Whitehills. They were the only ones who were against the Starks, how did he know that, well because now House Bolton was no longer the second most powerful house in the North, they had not lost their position, and how the Starks did to be able to do that, was a secret that no one could know, so far they could not have contact with the Boltons to pass him information about what the fuck was happening in the North.

The changes were not good in Jon's mind, and less when they came from the north, Moat Cailin was rebuilt and the person who was in charge of that bastion was nothing less than his former ward Ned, no doubt something that made him angry because it meant that he was not going to influence Winterfell, they pushed Ned away for anything that he could influence, but the worst was not there when he sent a letter to Eddard to know the changes that were in the north, or if they needed help for anything, it was never answered.

It also didn't help that Varys' spies were hunted, because if for some reason they managed to enter the North, their heads would appear in Varys' residence, that only implied that the North knew that they were looking for information. What forced them to use the Boltons, was the reason why they could not have contact with them, because of the laws of the north.

The Northerners were a stickler for the laws, but therein lay Jon's fear, if they used the Boltons as a means of information and were discovered, they were going to lose the only house that could neutralize the actions of House Stark from within. This was undoubtedly very annoying from his point of view, the Northerners were nothing more than beasts, who only had to serve to be used and nothing more. But he was never going to say that in front of a northerner, because even if he did not like it, they were very close to the valley, any attack meant the end of the valley if they knew where to attack, even against the defenses that the valley had, but a naval attack meant the end, and as they could see the Manderly activated again the northern naval force, with ships that so far no one could describe, another point to take into account.

That point was very bad because if the North had naval strength right now, he could quietly attack the weak points of the Vale via sea that was certainly a headache for him, as it meant he didn't have to anger the North. The Vale had the best warriors in the west capable of fighting in any weather, but the Northerners, they were bloodthirsty, they enjoyed war and the only way to stop them was for the ruling house to control them, or they were all dead because they were not going to stop until they finished off their enemies.
