Chapter Nine - The Party

We arrived at Aidan's house. The place looked so alive, there were people outside in the garden and on the driveway. You could hear the music booming from a few houses down the street.

Alahna parked on the street a bit further down from Aidan's house because there were cars absolutely everywhere.

The three of us made our way to the front door where we were greeted by someone stumbling out onto the porch. People must have gotten here pretty early to already be this drunk.

We spotted Mikayla, Chloe and Tayla over on the couch, Chloe was waving rapidly and calling out our names. We joined them and sat down, "How long have you guys been here?" Alahna shouted over the music so they could hear her. "Not too long, long enough to bag the couch though", said Mikayla with a chuckle.

I felt a bit awkward so I decided it was time for a drink. I asked if anyone wanted me to grab a cup for them while I was getting one for myself and then headed to the kitchen.

I grabbed three cups for Nick, Alahna and myself. Nick doesn't drink but also didn't bring anything to drink so I searched the kitchen for a bottle of something non-alcoholic. As I was searching I suddenly felt a presence behind me.

Aidan "Hey! You made it!"

Jules "Well I couldn't miss this could I?"

Aidan "Sure as hell not. What are you looking for?"

Jules "A soft drink for Nick, he doesn't drink"

Aidan "Oh yeah! I moved all the drinks into the garage so I could stock this one with alcohol, come on let's go grab something"

Aidan led me down the hall to a locked door, he took out a key and we went into the garage. There was a shelving unit with all the bottled drinks on it. I grabbed a bottle of Pepsi and poured some into the cup. Aidan told me he'd leave the keys with me so I could come and fill up the cup whenever I needed.

I made my way back to my friends and handed Nick his drink and Alahna her cup. I poured myself a drink and chugged it down. I really need some alcohol in my system to get rid of these nerves.

We sat together for at least an hour when Matt and Chris finally arrived. I don't know what took them so long but I remember Matt mentioning that he had something to do before coming.

They said hi to a few people they knew and then made their way over to us. Chris suggested we all go and play beer pong, so we all got up and went outside to the table.

We split up into two teams of four; Matt's team, Mikayla, Nick and Tayla. Chris' team, Alahna, Chloe and me.

It was Nick against Alahna first. Nick scored so Alahna had to drink. Up next, Matt against Chloe. Chloe scored so Matt had to drink, he poured himself a shot of whatever drink he'd brought instead of the alcohol already in the cups and gave the cup to Tayla.

Next was Chris against Mikayla. Chris scored and we all cheered for our second point, we were winning! I noticed that Tayla cheered for Chris too which was strange because she's on Matt's team. Chris turned to high five all of us and as he high fived me I caught Tayla scowling.

The game continued and we ended up losing so we were left with a forfeit, we all had to strip down to our underwear and jump in the pool. Luckily I had gotten pretty drunk from the game along with sipping from my own drink, so I wasn't too bothered about the forfeit. Chris was the first to strip and cannonball into the pool, he didn't really see it as a forfeit. Alahna jumped in next, she screamed so loud and it drew some attention from other people at the party. Me and Chloe decided to jump in together holding hands.
