"Who the fuck does he think he is?!" I state as I walk through my front door with Jenson, Emori, Cami, and Natalie following behind. "He shows back up after four years and thinks he can tell me what I am allowed to do. I think not. Fuck him."
"Peyton, sweetie, I know that you are upset but you need to calm down." Emori says.
"Why? Why did I ever think I could go on with my life never having to see him before? Is that too much to ask?"
"No, it's not." Jenson pulls me into a hug. "I know this is hard, but we will get you through this just like we did before."
"The sad thing is, after the way he acted tonight, I know he's not going to leave me alone."
"We'll figure something out." Emori says to me.
"I was fine when I thought I would never have to face him again. Now I am going to have to look over my shoulder everywhere I go. Why couldn't he have just left me alone. I was happy before he showed up."
"Don't let him take that away from you P."
"Do you really think he is going to let Santi continue to see me after tonight?" I fell so defeated right now. "I'll answer that for you. No, he is going to do everything in his power to keep us apart."
"Do you think Santiago would allow him to do that?" Jenson asks.
"I don't even know. I know Santi and I are only friends with benefits, but I really enjoy his company. I don't want AJ to come in between what we have."
"Not to interrupt, but can someone tell us what just happened and how you three know the president of the MC?" Cami asks.
"The what?" I ask confused.
"Yeah. That's the guy Nathan introduced to me as the president."
"Oh, this is just perfect." I spit to no one in particular and flop down in my oversize chair. The other four take seats one my couches.
"To answer your question, that man tonight was AJ, the guy who broke P's heart four years ago." Emori states.
"If you don't mind me asking, what happened?" Nat asks.
"Oh, you know. Girl meets guy, girl falls in love, then finds said guy fucking one of her supposed best friends at a party." I speak.
"Sorry." Nat apologizes.
"You have nothing to be sorry for. He's the one who committed the act. He's also the reason I don't do relationships or trust men in general."
"P, if I would have known he was the guy who broke your heart I would have warned you ahead of time." Cami says looking upset.
"It's fine, you didn't know. Being as he is the president of the MC in our town, I was bound to run into him at some point. I just thought after college he would have left here. I guess I was wrong."
There is a knock at my door and all I can think is AJ has followed me home. I sit there debating whether I should answer it or not. The other four in the room are staring at me wondering what I am going to do. The knocking doesn't cease, so I decide it will be best to answer it. The whole way to the door there is a knot in my stomach that gets bigger the closer I get. When the door finally opens, I am relieved to see who is on the other side.
"Hi." I smile.
"Hey mama."
"What are you doing here?"
"I came to check on you. Should I not have?" he asks.
"No, no, come in. I'm glad you're here." I pull him into the house and immediately hug him.
