I finished making her food and placed it on the dining room table. I made her breakfast that consists of: Pancakes with maple syrup, scrambled eggs, toast with butter, and 2 sausages. Since Grace looks really skinny like she hasn't eaten in days, this will be good for her.
Grace was still asleep, so I used this time to find new clothes for her. Soon I found sweat pants and a white t-shirt. I placed the clothes on the coffee table in front of the couch where Grace is sleeping.
Soon Grace woke up, groaning in pain.
"Where's Mama and Papa...?" Grace asked.
"Their gone. For good."
"Gone??" Grace yelped, looking happy.
"Yes. We escaped their grasp. And I made breakfast for you."
"BREAKFAST?!" Grace gasped, looking overjoyed.
"Yep! When was the last time you've had breakfast?"
"Probably....I actually don't know. Not frequently, I know that."
Grace walked to the dining room table where her breakfast is. Her face lit up in awe. "OH MY GOD-" She ran to the chair and started eating.
"After you're finished eating, I left you clothes on the coffee table over there," I said, pointing to the table.
"Mm!" Grace said while stuffing her face in scrambled eggs.
"Do you like them?"
"MM!!" Grace nodded her head while chewing.
After Grace finished eating, she ran to the coffee table, grabbed the clothes, and went to the nearest bathroom to put them on. She came out of the bathroom with the clothes on and then went exploring.
I sat on the couch and scrolled through my phone. While I was reading a story on my phone, an ad popped up. For the Pizzaplex. But something was weird about the ad. The ad was glitching occasionally and the voices explaining the attractions kept on cutting in and out. But when the ad appeared on the TV, this never happens. Maybe my eyes are tricking me. Being around animatronics and all...can mess with my brain on reality and dreamland, right?
After the ad finished, there was a link that popped up to book a birthday party. Hm...fun. I clicked off the ad and continued reading. Grace soon came down the stairs and sat next to me.
"Is there anything you want me to do?" Grace asked.
"Hm? What do you mean?"
"Like, clean, cook, anything?"
"Grace...that's not what children are made to do."
"Huh?"
"Your parents were using you for their dirty work. Like child labor. I won't do that to you. You can relax, okay?"
"R-Relax?!" Grace yelled. Taken aback by what I said.
"Yes, relax. Is there an issue?"
"No...I haven't 'relaxed' in...so long..." Her voice was shaking in fear.
"Well, now you can. How about I turn on a TV show? What do you want to watch?"
"Um...mama never allowed me to watch TV...are you okay with it? Since I don't want to make you upset...are y-you might hurt me..."
"I would never hurt you! I'm NOT your parents. You can do whatever you want, okay?"
"Whatever...I...want?" Grace stuttered.
"Yes. Whatever you want."
"Are you sure? I-I can massage you if you'd like! Or-Or clean your room-"
"Grace...you're not a servant. You can do whatever you want!"
Grace went quiet from shock. All these years she has been a servant. You gotta feel bad for the poor kid. I looked at Grace and her eyes were forming tears.
"Are you okay?"
"I...yeah, I am okay." She said, as she wiped her tears away on her sleeve. "Why are you so kind?"
"Kind? I'm just doing the correct thing to do."
"That means...my parents weren't doing the correct thing...?"
"No. They were doing the opposite. You got to loosen up, okay? Soon I'll be going to my night shift as well..."
"Can I come?"
"Sure...we'll have to keep you hidden from Vanessa though. She's also a security guard. BUT she told me that ANY child should be reported to her. I'll get fired if she figures out I'm hiding a child. Okay?"
"O-Okay ma'am/sir!"
"You don't have to call me by that. Just call me Y/N. Okay?"
"Okay Y/N. When will you leave?"
"In 5 hours. We still have time to chill. Do you want to play Uno?"
"What's 'Uno'?"
"It's a card game! I'll show you. Follow me." She followed me to my closet as I took out the card game. Grace and I sat on my *favorite color* rug in my room. I shuffled the deck and gave Grace 6 cards to start out with, and I gave myself 6.
This will be fun!
